The only "impossible" in that list is Ronaldo. Del Piero would probably
spend much of his time on the bench (I certainly don't rate him higher
than Asprilla or Ginola). Roy Keane wouldn't be the man to replace
Peter Beardsley (given that PB isn't getting any younger) and I hardly
think Batty or Lee need replacing.

So let's get the cheque book out for a keeper who can't catch the ball.
Oh, and he's young so that should add a couple of zeroes onto the fee
;-)
>Miguel Nadal (Spanish centre back)
Now you're talking. If Newcastle are missing something, it's a tough,
no-nonsense central defender.
>Fernando Redondo (Real Madrid's Argentinian central midfielder).
Technically, he's excellent...but he's probably the slowest player in
world football. Put him in the hustle-and-bustle of the Premiership,
and he'll look Lester Piggott on skis.
>I know these choices are very cosmopolitan but good
>English players are few and far between
I don't think Newcastle really need to buy (except in defence).
Actually, you only need to look at the England squad that Glenn Hoddle
picked yesterday (McManaman, Fowler, Beckham et al) to realise that the
above remark is a bit bizarre (for want of a better word), though I'd
agree that most of these players would be priced out of the market
(just look at the sum Fiorentina coughed up yesterday for Kanchelskis).
