After a first round that nobody noticed, the cup came to life last night with a
couple of major upsets. The 'big boys' were moaning about having to play so
early (like Man U and others in England in that cola cup). So a couple of
minnows took revenge and showed them they have no divine right to miss the early
rounds:

Alloa (3rd division) beat Motherwell (premier)
Ayr (2nd division) beat Kilmarnock (premier)
Airdrie (1st division) beat Raith Rovers (premier)
Albion rovers (3rd division) beat Falkirk (1st)

As exciting as it makes the cup, these Premier performance's do not bode well
for the league ! Could be the huge gap points gap between Rangers, Celtic and
the rest might not have been a one of season. For the good of Scottish football
I hope it was.

Back to the cup, roll on tonights results. Good luck to Clyde and Clydebank, we
can only dream they continue the upsets (via Celtic and Rangers respectively).

	Part 2 of round 2 was played last night with the big teams all winning: Rangers Celtic Dunfermline and Hearts. Stenhousmuir were closest to causing an upset - they took Hearts to extra time, played with 10 men and still reached penalties. Unfortunately they lost at sudden death after the regulation 5 were tied. Roll on the 3rd round draw, with so many seeded teams already out, it could be an interesting round. Danny.

There are at least 4 teams in the 1st that can hold their own against all premier teams bar Celtic and Rangers. Time for a 16 team top league. Danny.
