	Welcome aboard.

	Now go back to the notes manual and read the difference between
	"write" and "reply", or the difference between "Create New Note"
	and "Create Reply".

	Verdadamente, Senor Stuart.

	An unfriendly welcoming note would simply have asked him why he
	thought he was so important that he merited a topic to himself.

510.5Dislike Aston Villa??CHEFS::WEAVERDThu Sep 28 1995 19:1827
    Before anyone shouts, I know this is the wrong place for an intro, but
    hope Mod will move to appropriately. However in view of "dislikes" in
    .0 I had to come out of the closet. Been reading for a while and
    entered a couple in 67, but not formally introduced.

    Derek Weaver

    Teams: Aston Villa (see reasons below), any Midland team (especially
    those from the lower divs. e.g. West Brom), Auxerre cos I had a hell of
    a night there once (but that's not for this note!!).

    Reasons for supporting Villa - born in Aston - then emigrated to Sutton
    Coldfield (5 miles) - played rugby for Aston University and Aston Old
    Eds, so spent most of early life in sight of the floodlights. Remember
    watching the '57 cup final on a pink telly. First goal went in,
    everyone cheered, budgie fell off perch, it had died of shock??.

    Work in Reading now. Still play rugby on Saturdays, so only get to
    midweek and Sunday games, but hope to put a few match reports in.

    Regarding dislikes in .0 I wondered who Ason Villa were or what the
    Coventry City manager has got to do with the bias??

    Dislike: Sorry to join the throng, but Man U.

    Safety in numbers, eh Derek? ;-) Welcome to the conference, anyway.

    Makes you wonder what MUFC need to do to win friends, given that
    they've sold Hughes/Ince, brought in a whole bunch of youngsters, AND
    got knocked out fo Europe (we all know the British are scathing about
    success).

510.7About time I introduced myself....CHEFS::TREETONFri Jan 26 1996 13:2938
      Hi everybody,

      I found this note whilst looking through the conference for the
      Predictions.. I have just entered mine for this weekend.

      I have been adding the occasional note but have not formerly
      introduced myself.

      Bill Treeton is the name now based in Winnersh, I was previously
      based in Warrington and DEC Park.

      Chelsea is the team. I have supported them since the FA Cup Final
      in 1967 when they lost to Tottenham. I only started supporting
      them because my Brother supported Spurs.

      I do have soft spots for Bradford & Scarborough due an ex
      Girlfriend having lived in close proximity to one and living right
      next door to the other.

      I am a great admirer of Liverpool but never enough to want to
      switch allegience.

      Greatest moments were the 1970 FA Cup Final & '71 Euro CWC. More
      recently doing the double over Utd in 1993/4 season, being at
      Wembley for Reading/Bolton and the recent double over Newcastle in
      League & Cup.

      Worst moment, apart from the many relegations and early Cup exits,
      was not completing the treble over Utd in the 1994 FA Cup Final. I
      had to endure the taunts from many a Utd fan..

      Pet hates are, I'm afraid to say, Man Utd., Terry Venables &
      anyone who complains about referees (!!!) and/or Linesmen. Its a
      tough job.....

510.9Ironic note in the area !!!CHEFS::CROSSAFri Jan 26 1996 14:224
    No he bloody well wont if he confesses to taking tickets for BIG
    Reading matches that should go to real Reading fans. Glory hunters!!!

510.1011th hour ticket....CHEFS::TREETONFri Jan 26 1996 16:4310
      I only went in place of a true Reading fan who reluctantly had to
      go elsewhere..under protest!!

      I only knew at about 10.30am on the day of the match that I was
      going. I went to give my local team vocal support.

    Er, Stretch,

    It's a bit rich for you to go round calling people 'Glory Hunters'.
    After all, you support about a dozen teams just so that you can say
    that 'your team' won some silverware at the end of the season.

    Stuart
