507.0. "York City" by MOEUR8::SMITH () Thu Sep 21 1995 09:06

I've started this note because I believe that on recent performances,
York City deserve a note of their own.

Maybe, maybe not! I live in France, so...

However, I do recall some years back York winning the (old) division 4
by a mile, scoring a record number of goals, and gaining a record
    number of points...

Apart from that there are some excellent pubs in York.

Re: Creation of a York City topic

Dang, I'd the same idea this morning but wasn't quick enough
of the mark.

City must now have a great chance of taking MUFC out of the CCC ;-).
Of course MUFC will say that they weren't trying and that they've
bigger fish to fry, but AFAIMC that victory by York City
must go down as one of the biggest giant killing acts of all
time.

Well done and I hope you avoid relegation to the 3rd division
this season ;-).

I see the ref. did his own little bit last evening too, gifting a
penalty and a man extra to York City. Of course that's why MUFC
lost: poor referring. But what about the other two goals...well?

So the ref. would, for example, book Pallister when he was really
    referring to Bruce?

Maybe "3 - 0 to York" really refers to ManU instead?!?

Ian,

You are correct: AFAIMC is As Far As I'M Concerned. I tried to
obfuscate the acronym as much as possible. As for the "IM" part,
why not? Too many people think linearly; I'm trying to develop
my non-linear side ;-).

If you're not going to express yourself clearly, so that other people
can understand you, what is the purpose of noting?

That's a rhetorical question. I know the answer. Some years ago some
yob from Leeds was being interviewed on the radio about why he
	sprayed graffiti on walls.

Incomprehensible is motivated by the same urge to draw attention
	to oneself.

I didn't understand a word of your note. Can you put it into words of
    two syllables or less.

    Thanks

I'm hurt... If my note was so incomprehensible how come METSYS::ALLEN
got it?

Are you trying to tell me that everyone in the world who sprays graffiti
on the wall is a Leeds fan. What a novel and completely unoriginal
thought. You'll have to come up with something more original than that
to elicit a chuckle from this audience.

Sorry I offended your very sensitive sensitivities. I'll be more careless
in future.

Get out the wrong side of the bed this morning?

James (trying very hard not to take it personally).
507.13York has a very fine city wall ...AYOV29::MTHEODORESONI'm not long for this companyThu Sep 21 1995 15:4812
OK How about this for a novel and original thought ?

Everyone in the world should spray graffiti on Leeds fans who are all
    totally off the wall.

OK maybe it's not original as it's just a jumble of .12

    But it's a thought ...

Actually you can call me whatever you want, I don't care.

    but it wasn't enough.

Seriously what little there was on the highlights, there was some quite
reasonable football played by both sides, but typical cup tie tension,
with misses at both ends, and several scrambles in crowded penalty
areas. Didn't actually see the interview with Ferguson, but radio this
morning indicated he said things like outplayed, rather than moaning.
    That'll be good news.

    Err,

Are we talking about Alex Ferguson, the manager of TTFKATGFTITU? Has he
had a personality implant? Mind you, Dalglish had a sudden change of
personality (i.e. joking, smiling, not whinging) before he "quit"
Blackburn. Maybe Alex is about to do the same at OT?

Excellent result... we went to watch the Rangers vs Motherwell game

Well done to the Minster Men.... :->>>>
