Dunga - Brazil, first five minutes. A six-stone Rusky tapped his ankles
and big, broody Dunga spun around the floor like someone out of the
    Rock Steady Crew.

| | I thought Maradonna's forward 3 and a half somersaults in pike position
degree of difficulty 3.0 was pretty impressive last night.

| | I second Maradonna's nomination......I was at the game and Maradonna
was diving and whinning from the start. Too bad he is still out of
shape. Some of his dives suffered from it......

| | Forget about all the previous dives mentioned. If you want to see the
most dives/feigning injury in all the World Cup, the Bulgaria/Argentina
match had it all. BTW, it was a really lousy game of soccer (North A.).
It seemed like every two minutes the referee was issuing a yellow card.
    Bulgaria won 2-0.

during these 45 minutes Van Vossen did a pretty good impersonation of
the leading ballerina in Swan Lake....;-)

However, Hristo and Letchkov (Kletskop) and their mates gave the Germans what
they deserve (and what the Belgian Red Devils should have done before).

I agree. Mind you, it evened out because that disallowed goal a few minutes
earlier looked perfectly good to me (no way it was offside).
Are the British commentators still saying how great their officials are -
I reckon that Pearson, the touch judge could do with some basic training.

No, after the recent displays we've stopped ridiculing the Saudis,
Koreans etc as being Third World idiots and have started talking about
    Klinsmann all the time now.

| | I agree that there are some players who love diving and all the
theatricals that go with it but don't you think that there is method to
    there cheating.
With defences being on top most of the time certain players take a dive
so that it implants the idea in a defenders mind that if he goes near
the player again he will do the same again. This then gives the diver
more time on the ball to get his shot in.
Anyway my nominations for the cheat/diver goes to the so called hard
    man of Brazil....Dundga.

| 402.17 | Jurgen Branco.... | AYOV16::KMCCLELLAND | The Honest Truth | Mon Jul 18 1994 16:46 | 13 |
| | Branco wins it for the dive, looking for a penalty, when Appolloni
challenged him. He even looked embarrassed when he realised how bad an
attempt it was. Had the ref been fooled, and lets face it, they are so
easily fooled, then Appolloni may have been sent off as he had already
    been booked.
