349.0. "Stick to Football" by KBOMFG::TANNER (Midnight is where the day begins..) Mon Jan 24 1994 15:55

I used to really enjoy reading about football in this notesfile, but its gone
downhill in a big way over the past few months, there's a few people out there
who don't really care about football, and have probably no work to do, so they
decide to continually post their garbage in here... Is that really what we want
to read in here??? Iam geting fed up seeing so many notes set hidden in this
notesfile, and Iam sure Iam not the only one. Lads can we stick to football???
or is that impossible??? and is it so difficult to have respect for the dead no
matter who they are or what they are??????.

If this continues I can see this conference been closed down, and I don't
think that would be very fair on the genuine footballs fans out there who write
and read in this conference.

Please talk about football in here, and stop the trivial abuse....

The jingoistic Irish/English/Scottish banter is a real bore, and
    definitely should be stopped.

However,I can`t see the harm of the odd note going off the beaten
track. (E.g. the Cockney Red in Belgium story).

If you read the notes recently you would realise the this type of "banter" has
been virtually non-existent for the past two or three months. The "banter" is
now of the same genre but amongst the various supporters of English clubs.

This is worse because, some of them work in the same offices and are in close
enough proximity to hit each other ;-)

    Peter,

where does Una fit into all this? If it helps, she looks a bit
    like Razor Rudduck.......

JBG,

From what I heard they couln't keep her in !

With the screams of Jerry Jerry Jerry ... every night, they thought she was
Guissepi Conlon and as we all know he's "An Innocent Mon" !
(If ya don't get it go see "In the name of the father")

Does anybody know where I can get hold of a copy of Vinny Jones' video.
If possible I'ld like to get it before the next time Jon and I play our
outdoor five-a-side. Also, if anyone has John Fashanu's accidental
challenge on Gary Mabbutt, that could be useful too !!!

    Thanks in advance,

    Jerry.

.8 - It was a reply in the Introductions note - all about a Londoner
who went over to Belgium to watch Man Utd play and ended up getting
    arrested.

Well I thought it was a good read, anyway.
