336.1 | I am already in! | PIECES::63585::SWIFFEN | | Fri Jan 07 1994 09:54 | 13 |
| Antony,
I have entered a team, and have got a few others to do so,
so I will be following it throughout the season. It would
be good if we could get a few others involved and post
our own results/scores each week.
My team is Schmeichel, Barrett, Hendry, Polston, Beresford
Waddle, McAllister, Hazard, A N Other , Cantona and Campbell.
You will note the confidence I have in in the Liverpool lads!
Chris.

Er,and 3 others whose names totally escape me.
You can spend 20 million. My team came to 19.6m

| I've just completed my entry...
Schmeichel
Venison
Dorigo
Hendry
McDonald
Hazard
Caskey
Ward
Wilkins
Wright
Shearer.
I will be resorting to religion to get Tottenham scoring again and to
the bottle and my Division 1 team ground locator if they don't.
Simon.

336.4 | Here we go ! | LARVAE::FERRARO_A | Antony Ferraro @UCG | Wed Jan 26 1994 13:41 | 25 |
| My team went in yesterday. It is :
Seaman
Parker
Beresford
Bruce
Adams
Meaker
Hazard
Caskey
Ebbrell
Stein
Shearer
19.7 m total.
I am also hoping for a tottenham miracle, apparently mickey is on
crutches so it could be in the transfer at some stage. It just hurts to
put Adams/Seaman in the team.
I know Mr Sant's put two teams in.
I've got 130pts from the info in today's paper.

| Mine is:
Seaman
Winterburn
Dorigo
Bruce
Hendry
Ebbrell
Caskey
Hazard
Clark
Stein
Bright
I have to admit , though, that I cheated and picked a team that was doing really
well after they published the points list last week. 8-)
I entered a team of players that I actually like in the name of a mate:
Flowers, Staunton, Jones, Hoddle, Hendry, Hazard, Redknapp, Richardson, Lee,
Stein, Cole
but they're not doing quite so well. 8-)

| The secret at the moment is to put a team in with Seaman (a must),and
as many Arsenal defenders you can afford. Of course the beauty is this
could well change as the season progresses.
Another good buy is Mark Stein. He`s a player I chose, and is clocking
up the points like nobodys business, and is a snip at 1.5 million.

....with the optimum number being one, since you are only allowed two
players from any one club!
Rob
(With three teams entered in various names: one of personal choice
[31 pts to date], and two based on recent form [137, and 127 pts])

at the moment would be ? (Following the rules of course)
Cheers,
Andy

336.10 | ....but then maybe if I put Sutton in place... | PANIC::ANDERSON | Just another 'eadless chicken | Fri Jan 28 1994 10:07 | 27 |

Andy,
Sitting on the train last night, I got out my calculator and
Wednesday's Torygraph, and tried to work it out......
....unfortunately, I got confused [bored] with all the permutations
after a while, but I think the following team is about 'the best' :
Seaman 2.6M 21 pts
Dixon 2.8M 19 pts
Bardsley 1.4M 9 pts
Peacock 1.8M 9 pts
Linighan(D) 1.8M 8 pts
Ebbrell 0.9M 7 pts
Giggs 3.2M 12 pts
Hazard 0.8M 7 pts
Caskey 0.9M 7 pts
Bright 2.4M 17 pts
Stein 1.5M 25 pts
TOTALS 19.9M 141 pts
Some 'interesting' names there, that I suspect will not be up with the
highest come May!

I've put two teams in - one belonging to "The Wife.."
Both are rolling along quite nicely thanks, made by one or two
low-priced gems so far coming up with the goodies (Moncur, Meaker,
Hazard, Watson).
ARS Seaman
ARS Dixon
QPR Bardsley - dark horse, just hope QPR keep getting blanks against
MU Bruce
BLA Hendry
MU Kanchelskis
QPR Meaker - only 600k and what a player!
TOT Hazard - now knackered & on crutches 8-(
SWI Moncur - only 700k, and every time Swindon score he's involved..
BLA Shearer
CHE Stein - I just *knew* he'd get on the scoresheet eventually..
Costs 20m, and is currently on 135 pts
The other team swaps:
BLA Flowers for ARS Seaman
MU Irwin for QPR Bardsley
ARS Adams MU Bruce
MU Giggs for MU Kanchelskis
SW Watson for BLA Shearer
also costs 20m, and is on 128 pts
See you in the USA in July? Fat chance!!
Andy.

| It looks like the other papers have valued players at a lot less than the
telegraph e.g. Bruce for 1.5 and Beardsley for 2.0.
Serves me right for compromising my principles and selling out to a tory rag I
suppose. Darn free enterprise. 8-)

336.17 | SUPER LEAGUE | XSTACY::PHAYDEN |  Ne-Max-Zn-Dweebe | Thu Aug 10 1995 12:56 | 29 |
| In the Telegraph's Fantasy League this season there is an option
to set up a Super League.
The idea is that a group of 5 or more "Friends" submit their
entries to the Fantasy League as well as a Sub-League.
In this Sub-league only your team competes with your mates teams.
There is no prize other than the glory in seeing your name in the
paper every so often.
Your team also competes normally within the Fantasy League.
Now what I suggest ( if there is an interest ) is that we submit a DEC
Noters Super League. Entries close on the 2nd of Sept so we'll need to be
quick.
There are a few rules etc... and money matters which I will post if enough
people are interested. I'm here in Ireland so organizing this may be difficult,
but I'm willing to give it a try.
Note - A condition on entering is that you must also submit your team to the overall
Fantasy League( for which there is a substantial overall prize as well as weekly and monthly prizes ).
You have 35M to spend and player prices are reasonable.
Just send me a mail ,
Peter.
