your man got 3 out of the 4. Not a bad start . . . but then he failed to score
against Liverpool . . .

Tranmere.

Paul,
I knew Ipswich were onto a winner against Tranmere when they took
my advice and went to Chaplins !!
FYI - they ordered the fresh fruit salad.
Guenchev had the profiteroles.

are many other Ipswich fans out there.
Not even a "We avoided relegation.......again".
Does anyone have up-to-date news on Adrian Paz's work permit? Or who
Mauricio Taricco is?
Looking forward to the East Anglian derby tonight.

Sounds a bit like Everton this coming season.
If you ignore the bit about attractive football and scoring goals that
is!
Still, 2 out of 4 aint bad.

I think the missing right back is George Burley (As in 1st reply).
I remember travelling down to Portman Rd in November of '82, for Alan
Hunter's testimonial against the glorous Glasgow Celtic. This was
Burley's comeback match after being out for a while with a nasty
injury.
A good player in his day, but coming to the end of his career at the
time.
The Bhoys won 3-2 that night (McGarvey, McCluskey & Nicholas) in front
of 16,000 fans, of which 7000 had travelled down from Scotland.
Nice place, friendly people, reasonable beer & generally a good time
was had by all.

Burley was definitely a full-back in that team - A well-remembered
comment on matches of the day was "Support from Burley" (Burleigh
was/is a make of bra!!)
BTW I thing his son is now playing for some-one, perhaps Sunderland?
Other facts about the players mentioned -
David Geddis was an ex-male model, who went on to play in Aston Villa's
championship side (mainly as a sub)
Roger Osborne is the answer to the question in the current MacDonald's
advertisement, although I seem to remember that after scoring the FA
cup wining goal he was substituted suffering from nervous
exhaustion/excitement and never played again

Dave Clarkson

Don't know about his son but his nephew is Craig Burley the Chelsea
tyro - scorer of spectacular goals and occasional Paul Merson
look-a-like.
Burley has yet to start this season due to an injury sustained in a
pre-season friendly (just in case anyone had him in their Fantasy
Team).

Is this the sign of things to come? {8^)
Maybe all The Town need is a busier schedule, and were just too fresh
for the Norwich and Bolton games?
Any News/views on Paz's debut? Being stuck North of the Border makes it
difficult to get any news or highlights from the games.
