| I know I'm going to attract criticism here but I think Berwick are the
BEST team in the borders.

Berwick.....1 Stranraer....2
Stranraer kept right in touch with the pacesetters but Berwick looked
unlucky. Only a brillant diving save by Ross in the dying minutes
denied Valentine an equaliser. Graham had put Berwick ahead with a
thundering 35th minute strike after hall created the opening. But the
Berwick dynamo turned villain conceding a 55th minute penalty which
Duncan converted. Mclean bagged the winner rifling home a 20-yard
volley in 70 minutes.
Last wednesday Berwick booked there place in the B&Q cup quarter-finals
with a 1 - 0 win at home to Arbroath. Scott getting the only goal.
They now meet Hamiliton away next Wednesday night.

Berwick lost there chance of a semi-final spot when they suffered a
nightmare start against Hamilton losing 2 goals in the first 17 minutes
It was a start they never recovered from despite pulling 1 back 3
minutes later with a goal from Irvine after good work from Scott.
Final score Hamilton 5 Berwick 2.

This was a good result for Berwick as they needed a confidence boost
for Wednesday's scottish cup game against Falkirk. Maybe they'll go
and spring a shock result but I'd wouldn't put any money on it.

Last night Berwick went out of the Scottish cup beaten 5 - 2 by a
Falkirk team who deserved there win without being stretched too much
by there second division oppontents.
Never mind there's always another year to try again.
