| 'ello 'ello 'ello, what have we got here then?
Nothing worse than getting to a juicy note just too late. The moderators
should put us out of this anguish and give some sort of summary of the note
thats been hidden. :-)
So, whoever wrote 263.0 ....... "whats vinny gone and done now??"
Yours in feverish anticipation!

| They showed a clip from his video on ITN news the other night. Vinny
sitting in a nice big armchair says,
"Yeah one of my favourite is when you're going in for a tackle and the
ball runs on a bit you just follow through and you can get right down
on the blokes achilles, I like that one I do"
They also showed some of his action both on and off the ball, he seems
equally adept at both.
Some bloke form the FA was interviewed saying they may haul him up for
bringing the game into disrepute.

Why don't the F.A just ban him from ever playing professional again,
this muppet has made to much money from the game, basically he's no
better than a Sunday morning footballer, just a bit more fitter.

For Vinny Jones to be able to promote this sort of activity is utterly
SICK !
A footballers playing career is relatively short anyway, possibly 10 or
12 years if they're lucky. So for someone to advocate this type of
'challenge' which could quite easily cause SERIOUS injury keeping the
victim out of the game for months, or even depriving them of their
livelihood completely, is absolutely beyond belief.
At the risk of sounding 'preachey' I also wonder what effect a video
like this will have on the next generation of footballers. Although
most, I'm sure, would not wish to play the game in this way there is
bound to be an element who do and will rejoice at the chance of buying
a 'How to nobble your opponent and get away with it' reference manual.
I can only assume that the video manufacturers main priority was not
the good of the game, but, as usual, MONEY !
The F.A. certainly should take action against Jones (preferably a late
tackle to take him out of the game).
Regards
Ian

Well I think its a great video. Vinnie is doing well for
himself. Everything a defender wanted to know but was afraid
to ask. The games greatest hardnuts, what more could a football
fan ask for in a video ?
Cossey. I've played in the same back four as you and can honestly
say that the only difference between you and Vinnie Jones, apart
from the haircut, is that he is taller.

| Is this video on public sale ??? If it is it will make a fortune now,
Let's face it everyone condemns the violence on the pitch but they love
watching it, when a scrap starts in a game everyone is delighted and
egging them on to beat each other.
Having said that, with regard to the video it has confirmed my long
time belief that Vinny has no brain. Heavy fines I'd say and no
suspension.

Nev. I don't know what you mean. My behaviour on the field
of play is beyond reproach. In attitude I am the Gary Lineker
of Sunday morning football. The perfect gentleman. I may have
been known to go in hard Nev but its always a fair challenge
and I never go for anything that ends in tendon.
Anyway as you can see by the 8-) in my previous note I was
only having a laugh and a dig at Cossey.
I think I'm more of a Stuart Pearce, dead ball specialist, hard
but fair tackling is the name of the game.

| Apparantly 'Mad Dog' Jones will only earn 2-3 grand from the video.
The company who were marketing it expected to sell around 20,000 at
10.99 each. Since all the recent publicity, their sales estimates
have increased to 100k+ and poor (?) old Vinnie had a fixed price
contract.

| Vinnie 'No Brain' Jones has about as much footballing talent and
intelligence as my Grandad has right now, and he's been six foot under
for five years.Even so I think a hefty fine (which should be more than
he stands to earn from this video) and a three game suspension should
be enough to deter this idiot in the future.

re Vinnie Jones: this pathetic excuse for a "Professional
Footballer" (sad, isn't it?) is simply highlighting the total
ineptitude of the likes of the FA to allow him and the likes
of to ply their filth on a football pitch.
He can behave as he does, give or take a booking/sending-off here
and there, with relative impunity. He makes a video about what he
does, and the FA want to charge him with disreputing the game.
I am speechless (hooray! Ed.). Vinnie Jones is not the symptom. He
is merely the result. His behaviour, if you can call it that, is
indicative of the malaise of our game. The "Up-and-at-'em" approach
hi-jacking skill, vission, ability....
Jones is a thug. But don't blame him for that, after all he is/was well
paid to "do his stuff" by managers and chairmen who clearly saw
something that they wanted in their side.....
I credit Howard Wilkinson for getting rid of him at Leeds. Let
their prosperity be a lesson to others as to what can be achieved
without his type, and put the Wimbledon story down to experience of
a game gone crazy.
Andy.

| Vinny Might be a bit of a head case but did the FA not have to sell the
rights for the clips to the video company to they could use them.
So they can't criticize the man for making a few quid.

Re last.
Hear Hear. The FA are a bunch of money grapping crooks
themselves. And don't you just hate all this " He doesn't know what
hard is " crap ( Tommy Smith ) we've seen in the papers since ?
Why is it people always say football was harder/fairer/better etc
when they were playing?

Vinnie's fame has reached Holland, yesterday afternoon he appeared in a
Dutch sports program, the reason ofcourse his Video.
He told the Dutch public he was basicly a honest guy who gets very excited
when playing footy, he also showed his tattoo's.
His message to the Dutch interviewer (Hans Kraay jr.) was:
"I know you are just as bad as I but don't pinch my things"
