Good news folks,
I have set up a VTX server which contains all notes and replies from
this conference.
Each note is a vtx page and each reply is a continuation page.
1) Why is that interesting ?
Simply because we now support full text retrieval in VTX.
You can search anything you like with boolean queries.
ex: _ Marseille and Milan and not inter
_ "Manchester united" and Liverpool
_ "world cup" or 94
2) What to use ?
You need to use a VTX client of a version Greater or equal to V5.0
If you do not have this version installed on your system ask your
system manager to install it (preferably ask him to install VTX T5.1-4)
You can use VTX (since VTX V5.0) from ULTRIX, MS-DOS, MS-WINDOWS, or
VMS.
On ULTRIX and VMS we have a character cell client and a MOTIF client.
3) How to connect to this server ?
From VMS :
$vtx/server=harrys/object=156 (harrys is node 51.320)
then type search at the prompt to invoke the full text retrieval
capability.
From ULTRIX or MS-DOS :
vtx -sharrys -o156
4) Finally, send me mail for feedbacks but please if you find any bug
(the server is running latest field test version) report them in
notesfile CASEE::VTX_X50_QAR.

Please tell me more about VTX going multilingual. Either here or mail
me or DTN me. We have a large tourist-oriented VTX/Minitel project
underway here and this could be of interest to those concerned.
