<<< Note 137.1 by BAHTAT::BLYTHE "Leeds United. Champions 91-92" >>>
-< The Mancs won't win this one either. >-
>> Anybody know when the Premier League Fixtures are published ?
I would guess at about the end of June.
>> Monday night games are now on - anybody know how far in advance they
>> will be chosen ?
No - probably slightly better than the last couple of season's cock-ups
though - seeing as teams can only have one home and one away game
rescheduled to Monday night.
>> Anybody know anything ?
I know lots about VMS - will that help ?
>> Will we still be here by the kick off ?
Depends- when's the next rightsizing/downsizing/whateverelsesizing
happens....
>> Do bears crap in the woods ?
Yes - but only if no one's watching.
Hope this helps.

Apparently Sky will be charging for Sky Sports from this year. I
caught the tale end of an advert for the channel the other night. If
you subscribe before August ??th it will cost 2.99 (pounds) per month.
If you already have Sky you should get some info through the post soon,
Loz.

newsagent for a copy of yesterday's Star, here are all the Premier
League fixtures for 92-93. It's 132 column and hard to read but 'tis
the best I could do. The team letter is translated to a name at the
bottom.

How long did that take!!! nimble fingers :-))
You can now go home and tell the wife what you're been doing all day :-))
On a serious note, I remember getting a nice pretty table showing the fixtures
for the whole league.
I'll find out

137.10 | Reserve Leagues | JGODCL::SHERLOCK | L.U.F.C. The phoenix has risen | Tue Jul 14 1992 12:11 | 20 |
| Wandering off the topic slightly, but for fear of creating a new
topic I have the following questions about the Reserve leagues
viz the leagues which reserve teams of Premier/Football league
clubs play in.
What is (are) the names of the reserve leagues in England ?
Are these leagues divided up geographically i.e North/South
and do they have some kind of premier league for reserve teams ?
What is the promotion/relegation system of these leagues.
Are the matches played during the weekend (Sunday) or during the
week ?
Are the reserve teams generally used by clubs for introducing
junior players to professional football, or merely to keep the
"nearly men" fit ?

> What is (are) the names of the reserve leagues in England ?
Main 2 Football Combination and central League.
> Are these leagues divided up geographically i.e North/South
> and do they have some kind of premier league for reserve teams ?
Yes, FC = South, CL = North.
> What is the promotion/relegation system of these leagues.
Not sure there is a second division in the FC, CL is 2 up 2 down or
maybe 3 up 3 down.
> Are the matches played during the weekend (Sunday) or during the
> week ?
Both, normally saturdays when first team are away.
> Are the reserve teams generally used by clubs for introducing
> junior players to professional football, or merely to keep the
> "nearly men" fit ?
Again both. Alo used for players coming back after injury.

| >>What is (are) the names of the reserve leagues in England ?
Football Combination for teams in Southern England (approx south of
Milton Keynes). The Central League for Birmingham, Manchester,
Liverpool, etc (I'm not sure if this includes the NE)
>>Are these leagues divided up geographically i.e North/South
>>and do they have some kind of premier league for reserve teams ?
Yes on North/South, no on Premier League.
>>What is the promotion/relegation system of these leagues.
I don't think there is any from the Combination, not sure about the
Central League.
>>Are the matches played during the weekend (Sunday) or during the
>>week ?
They tend to be on Saturday and weekdays. For instance on a Saturday
Arsenal usually have a reserve team game at Highbury when the first
team is away. The fixture list tends to be pretty flexible as games get
postponed with a fair amount of regularity.
>>Are the reserve teams generally used by clubs for introducing
>>junior players to professional football, or merely to keep the
>>"nearly men" fit ?
Both.
