113.0. "NOTE OF THE YEAR 1991/92" by ESSB::TSHAUGHNESSY (Electric Shaughs!) Fri Nov 01 1991 23:01

I think the time is ripe in any case to start the Note of the Year topic
once again. As I know Cunno personally any nomination for him would be
construed as favouritism. So, My nominations to start the ball rolling for
1991/92 season would have to go to Mike McCabe for his two excellent articles,
I couldn't distingush which was the better of the two so, I nominate the
following in order of entry :-

46.167
A marvellous unbias report on the turmoils following the decline of
"Busbys Babes". And his acclaim for probably one of the "Best" footballers that
has ever graced the turf of Old Trafford. Riveting piece of writing with the
utmost of respect for Manchester United's history.

30.85
The Aldo followers ignorant infatuation with "The Great one". Brilliant
piece of dialogue. a scream :-). There are critics in football with an indept
knowledge of the game and report very well on them. Mike is the best critic of
TGA I have ever read. Martin you should be ashamed !!! Note 727.69 in the
football_archive topic confirms my assumption, which introduced the Aldoism
and Cunnovitis diseses to the World.

Its about time someone in this notesfile gave us interesting reading and
constructive writing besides the banter about which clubs and players are
the best and worst (certain cities and its citizens not too far from Dublin
especially). Thanks for a good read, and a great laugh Mike.

Rgds,
Shaughs.

    Cheers Shaughs,

Thanks to you we've got a B-movie scenario down in London as I write.
It's called "The Ego that ate Enterprise House". Mr McCabe's head
is inflating at such a rate that the building has been evacuated
and the army have been called in.

    Barry.

    :^) :^)

I personally prefer Mike and Stuart's "Bing n Bob" type jaunts and of
course TLC. His defence of Schumacher has'nt been equalled.

I think that 66.45 (Cunno) must be one of the favourites to the "Note
    of the Year" title.

APPENDIX TO PREVIOUS NOTE BY MYSELF

When I wrote the previous note, at no moment did I pretend to be
joking (no *-) sign), just the other way round. So, that note must be
favourite for the "Unconscious Note of the Year" title.
