18.1LIGA ESPAOLAMDRLEG::AREVALILLONosce te ipsumWed Aug 14 1991 16:2915
    Hi there!

I could see from the former notesfile that some people missed me.

Now, I am back again (now a married man...) to post Spanish League
results and to clear doubts about Spanish football. By the way, the
Liga starts the first week of September.

JF and Gnter: I wasn't the Spaniard who tried to commit suicied in his
honeymoon, though perhaps Nuria, my wife, tried to cut the safety cord
    during my parasailing flight... *-)

18.3No, not Benfica!!!?CSCMA::ALMEIDAThu Aug 15 1991 18:409
    	Juanjo,

any comments on the "glorioso" losing its match to Senor Gil's
    	boys after leading by two?

Just curious of what happen...or did Futre dribbles had Benfica's
    	defense dizzy?

18.4A GOOD MATCHMDRLEG::AREVALILLONosce te ipsumFri Aug 16 1991 09:4613
    Reply to -1

After 0-2 for the "Glorioso", Atltico started to take it more
seriously, and got their first goal (possible off-side) at the
beginning of the second half (by Losada, ex-Real Madrid striker).
Benfica started to play defensively, and Atltico got the equaliser at
83' (an incredible goal by Bernd Schuster, who could easily score as he
was absolutely alone - the goalie Neno who knows where he was - but
waited for a defence to dribble in the Maradonian way at a distance of
3 meters from the goal line and scored) and 90' (Losada again in a
    perfect header).

    Trofeo "Teresa Herrera"

    Real Madrid 1-2 Porto

Porto to play the final against Ajax or Deportivo de La Corua.
18.64 FOREIGNERS THOUGH 3 ON THE FIELDMDRLEG::AREVALILLONosce te ipsumFri Aug 16 1991 09:529
Somebody commented about four foreign players allowed in Spanish League
    in the former football notesfile.

That's true: four foreigner are allowed but only three are allowed to
be on the pitch at the same time.

18.7IVN ZAMORANOMDRLEG::AREVALILLONosce te ipsumFri Aug 16 1991 12:317
In the former notesfiles somebody said that Ivn Zamorano played for a
Swiss team. It's not true, as last season he played for Sevilla and so
does he for the next one.

The league starts in two weeks time, perhaps it is not the right time
to make any predicctions, however I am going to venture one, top
contenders must be Barcelona, A Madrid, R Madrid, teams to watch out
    Albacete and Tenerife.

Congratulaciones una vez ms mi querido amigo y mucha prosperidad tanto
para ti como para tu bella esposa.

18.14MCHEL AND VALDERRAMAMDRLEG::AREVALILLONosce te ipsumThu Sep 12 1991 11:2416
Last week there was an incident in Real Madrid-Real Valladolid, which
you may have watched as TV cables are showing at all times.

In a corner against Real, Valderrama was trying to get a good position,
and Mchel was marking him, all of a sudden Mchel touched Valderrama's
very private parts. Well, everybody considered it incidental, but again
Mchel clearly touched them again for 5 times and great ability... A
Telemadrid camera was there and snapped it.

Have you seen it? Any comments?

How is Valderamma doing at his new club?

I saw him play for them pre season at Leyton Orient, in what seemed a
reserve side, and he was absolutely brilliant, every pass was perfect,
and he held the ball up really well.

It is too soon to assess Valderrama's performance in this League. His
team is at the bottom of the table (Higuita has "presented" 3 important
    goals).

The most noticeable issue about Valderrama is the "incident" with
Mchel I commented in a previous note.

When I was in Spain last week I bought Marca several times and that
Sports rags had long stories about Michel not being a man and hiding
from play in important games. Maybe he wanted to impress people that he
still knew where the "jewels" were.

Mchel received a lot of abuse, including banners, in Bilbao last week
regarding his "attitude" with Valderrama. He will have to purge his
"sin" all the season long, I suppose.

Mchel hiding from play in important games: this is a topic on Mchel
and other Real Madrid players regarding their side and national team.

There is one thing, that must be said Valderrama and the other players
should start hiding since, Mchel will be after them, however all of
this has nothing whatsoever to do with football.
In any case the team which will be the revelation this year was
sort of decided at Tenerife's ground last Sunday, with the help of the
referee, when he sent off THREE TENERIFE players in the incident
involving the penalty when Etcheverry pulled the ball with his hand
before he was pushed down in the penalty area.
Despite this dramatic event (never ocurred before in the modern
days football), Tenerife must recharge batteries and re-established
themselves as big contenders for the title this side of xmas..

    Juan:

Hierro, Torrecilla and Too were sent off after the incident, but
afterwards Dertycia was sent off too, so Tenerife finished with 7
    players.

By the way, Echeverri touched the ball with the hand, and was
theatrical when entering the area. It was an absolute robbery.

Caetano should be suspended, he disgraced the profession, this day and
age when high standards are required, and the enphasis is to prevent
crowds of opposite teams fighting, and the game we learn to love is got
to be disrupted, by same obscure reason by the person who is supposed
to control, however one must learn to respect the rules of the game and
accept the concequences, although the matter is not finnished yet.

Absolutely in earnest, Mchel and Gordillo disguised as brides in the

I saw the photo picturing Vinny Jones and Gazza, and Vinny Jones looked
more aggresive than Mchel did with Valderrama. *-)

Anybody notice who is bottom of the Spanish 1st division and why. Yes,
it's Real Sociedad and the reason is the loss of Aldo in particular and
to a much lesser extent Atkinson and Richardson. Anybody got any
    comments?

Looks like they're going to end up in the 2nd division...... just like
    Aldo.

The problem with Real Sociedad is that they sold too many players, and
of course they miss both Aldo and Atkinson, but J.B. Toshack was the
    responsible for their leave.

Can anyone tell me, which Spanish (and Italian) sides have 'nursery
teams' in the lower divisions and who they are? Some information would
    be much appreciated.
18.38SPANISH NURSERY TEAMSMDRLEG::AREVALILLONosce te ipsumFri Oct 18 1991 12:4216
Yes, nearly all the Spanish teams have nursery teams. I will write a
list of the most famous here in Spain to you:

    1st Division Team	Nursery Team
    ----------------- ------------
Real Madrid Real Madrid Deportivo (2A Division)
    Barcelona Barcelona Atltico (2A Division)
Atltico de Madrid	Atltico de Madrid (or Atltico Madrileo) (2B Div.)
Athltic de Bilbao	Bilbao Athltic (2A)
    Atltico Osasuna	Osanuna Promesas (2B)
    Real Sociedad	San Sebastin (2B)
    Sprting Gijn	Gijn Atltico (2B)
    Valencia Mestalla (2B)

    etc.

Interesting to see that clubs have their nursery team in second
division. What is happening if they finish first ?

I bet they are not promoted in first division !!!

My understanding is that the Nursery team cannot be promoted
into the top division while the 1st/senior team is there.

Likewise if the 1st/senior team are relegated then the 2nd
team go down from their division. Quite what happens if the
1st team go down and the 2nd team win theior division I don't
    know.

The nursery team of Real Zaragoza is called Aragn.

Juanjo, Real Madrid Deportivo is that the same as Castilla? I suppose
it is also called like that.

    Gnter
18.43NURSERY TEAMSMDRLEG::AREVALILLONosce te ipsumFri Oct 18 1991 15:2922
    HI AGAIN!

Yes, Real Madrid Deportivo was formerly Castilla.

Now, 7 years ago Bilbao Athltic won the 2nd Division League and
obviously they couldn't promote to the 1st one. As all of you have said
in he previous notes, it is not possible the coexistence in the same
division of the first and nursery teams.

But, in the Cup there are a type of mechanism to avoid clash in the
first round, but if they reach the finals, they could be played
    against each other.

About 10 years, Castilla managed to reach the Cup final, and had to
play against Real Madrid. Real won 6-1, and Castilla played the
European competition, as Real got the double. By the way, Castilla
played West Ham United. Do you remember?

Great result yesterday! Yes, I know "bota" and we used to have one with
us in Spain. I still have one here in Germany and take it with me when
going to the mountains. For football it's unfortunately not the habit

watch people trying to use it!

    Juanjo,

just to appreciate your service before you are leaving.

Zaragoza seems having recuperated from last season. They are now in the
peloton of the league and look rather competitive. I think they didn't
sign any spectacular player. Did they play against weak competition or
    are they really that good?

Muchas gracias por todo y quizs nos vemos algun da an la bonita
    capital espaola.

PS. BTW Do you remember Camilo who played for Atltico some years ago.
He is now playing for Albacete and is a friend of my best pal in Spain.
I missed him at Luis' boda because club officials did not allow him to
    fly.

Zaragoza is a different team from the one last season. They have
maintained the backbone of the last season, and no spectacular new
players except for the Argentinian Daro Franco, who shone in the last
Copa Amrica. The young players (from "la cantera maa") that started
playing last season, feel more comfortable at the 1st Division, and
Pardeza is playing extremely well again. They have had played difficult
matches: they could draw (2-1) at Vicente Caldern, and won (0-1) at
Valencia, so the opposition was strong. Last Sunday I watched them on
TV against Tenerife, and they played very well.

Yes, I do remember Camilo. He was not allowed to play for Atltico, as
there were some legal problems with Celta de Vigo about property and so
on, and had to come back to Celta. Afterwards, he went to Pamplona to
play for Osasuna, where he was two seasons, and did it well, and now is
    playing for Albacete.

It is hard to keep up the good standards, however all I can offer you
    out there in notesland is the following;
On Saturday Barcelona paid a visit to Albacete, the result betwwen the
current champion and the newcomer was a 1-1 draw, not bad for Barcelona
on the away points that may accumulate at the end of the season,
yesterday's results, the ones I know for certain are:
Atltico de Madrid 5	Real Valladolid	1, Manolo had a Hat-trick
and Bernardo the great had two himself, all round good performance for
Atltico, whereas Real Madrid was overwhelming in Barcelona this time
though the unfortunate hosts were CD Espaol, at the end of the first
half Mchel had score twice within 20 minutes.
Unfortunately these are the only results I do know for sure, but
I promise to provide the rest soon....

18.68The latest for you all...DUCK::VILLEGASJThe sun always shines in La PalmaMon Dec 23 1991 09:1841

To all people out there, this is the latest on the Spanish League:
Yesterday the 22nd of December was the last session for this year,
since everybody is to celebrate the holiday season at home with their
families, so these are the results :

    	Burgos 0 Mallorca	0
    	Albacete	3 Espaol 2
    	Corua 0 Real Sociedad	0
    	Logroes	0 Zaragoza	2

Sporting de Gijon0 Atltico de Madrid	1
    	Bilbao 2 Valencia	3
    	Barcelona	4 Cadiz 1

This are some of the outstanding facts, Javier Irurarte demostrated
quite significantly why he is the best manager in the first division,
and probably amongst the best in Europe, the former Atltico de Madrid
player, using his limited resources With His Asturian team, prctically
destroyed Madrid's leading team at the Bernabe Stadium, helping that
way to open up again the fight for the title, the other candidate was
without the services of Shuster and Futre, but stil managed a victory
following the consecutive defeats at the hands of Sevilla and Zaragoza
the penalty imposed onto Atltico because of crowd trouble, is one game
suspension at the Vicente Caldern which is the home ground for
Atltico which could mean taht the game between Real Madrid and
Atltico will be played in neutral ground.
also Yesterday R Iguita the colombian goalie for Valladolid said
goodbye to Spanish Footbal since, it was a nightmare for him as well as
for Pacho Maturana the colombian Coach.
    Leading positions are as follows.
    	                P	W	D	L	PTS
    Real Madrid 15	12	3	0	27
    ATltico de Madrid	15	10	1	4	21

It is wonderful to find out, that some people are still interested in
the Spanish League, being away from my desk, I was unable to put all
the results as they happened, however since some kind soul had already
put the results on yesterday's fixtures, nevertheless here some of the
    outstanding points:
Atltico de Madrid lost the nerve by going down to a Logroes side,
that performed within their capabilities, but Atltico played a very
strange system, with more defenders than forward players, so the bottom
line is when you want to win the League, you must risk somehow, rather
than to blame the referees when the game is lost.
On the other hand, Real Madrid with a magnificent goal scored by Hagi,
it was an spectacular goal, if I can described it, from the middle of
the pitch, he got hold of the ball after dribling one Osasuna player,
then he hit so hard the ball scoring what Pel couldn't it was a
deligth for the 85,000 spectators on a very cold night in Madrid the
    Cultural capital of Europe.
Barcelona on the other hand became the closest challenger to Real
claims, at only 5 points, but their game was a very poor performance,
according to their manager Johan Cruyf, because the two colombians that
are still playing for Valladolid were sent off, after insulting the
    referee.
So the next week fixtures show the great clash between Valencia and
    Real Madrid.

If you think that people don't react very much I think it is because
most of us do not know very much about the Spanish league.

I'll be living in Spain during the European Championchips and I was

Therse are the results of yesterdays games, the 19th round of the
    league :

    Real Sociedad 1	Mallorca 0

    Ral Oviedo 0	Albacete 1
Atltico de Madrid 1	Deportivo Corua	2

    Valladolid 1	Athletic Bilbao 1
    Valencia 2	Real Madrid 1
Tenerife 0	Sporting de Gijn	0
    Barcelona FC 4	Espaol 3

    These are the leading positions:

    			P	Pts

    Real Madrid 19	28
    Barcelona FC	19	25
    Valencia 19	24
    Zaragoza 19	24
    Atletico de Madrid	19	23
    Sevilla 19	22
    Albacete 19	22

Some of the outstanding features of Yesterday's Matches , Lus Aragons
was very unhappy when his style of played was critized; as too defensive
since he was playing six known defensive players, he responded to that
challenge by saying .." todays football , does not allowed you to
play orthodox styles, if you have to attack everybody has to attack,
the same when you have to defend ", so in his judgement there was
nothing wrong with the performance of his players, he also added that
when a so called weak team plays against them, they try harder making
difficult to follow the squemes you planned ..
To be fair to Aragons, I must add that since the Vicente Caldern was
closed for crowd trouble, it meant that, they had to travel to Cceres
for this fixture, this was against Aragons's whishes since he chose
Salamanca, but it was Jess Gil again , puting himself above everybody
    and decided for Cceres .
Elsewhere Real Madrid with THREE minutes to go, on Saturday Night
they just simple lost concentration and Valencia did not waste the
chance given to them in such a fashion, however when Madrid lost
against Atltico two weeks ago, they deserved to lose, however against
Valencia it was alittle bit of bad luck since, at the very begining
also Butrageo was injured in a collition with Gery.
Barcelona had a local derby, with a Espaol going through tremendous
traumas, nevetheless today they were to announced who is going to be
their manager for thr second part of the season it si none other than
Javier Clemente who by the way was a very succesful Esapaolista
manager 3 seasons ago, befroe his departure to funny enough Atltico de
Madrid where his fortune was not so good, perhaps the appointment of
this fellow was enough to give the players a little bit of motivation
which nearly was transformed in another upset,if we take into account
that Barcelona had a t one piont of the match a 3 goal difference, to
    end with a 4-3, in Bara's favour.
Finally Valderrama the colombiam Gullit look alike left Valladolid,
following the steps of his countryman Higuita, the two other colombians
still at Valladolid are about to leave at the end of the season.

Now then for whoever, is going to Spain during the summer the
television channels on which you can watch soccer are TVE2, Canal 5
CANAL PLUS, and depending which Regional Autonomy you found yourself
    some progrmas are decoded.

    That is all for today

    Sevilla 19	9	5	5	32	22	23

Now then, I am sorry about the delay on putting these result for you
today but there was a meeting which was important to all of us in the
group, nevertheless these are the main headlines from yesterday's
predicaments in a very unusually cold week end:
Lus Aragons was again facing the pressing questions from
everybody, related one way or another to the once challenger to the
title, because Atltico is now 9 points adrift from Real Madrid, the
funny thing is that on Wendnesday in King's cup tie, they scored 6
goals to progress into the next round, yesterday's performance was so
poor, for instance when the two subs were used, then Juanito twisted
his ankle and was forced to play upfront when he could hardly walk
never main trying to kick the ball.
Real Madrid were not free from trouble, against one Tenerife that
needs the points so badly, since they are playing very well, but nearly
caused a shock when for the last quarter of the match had to suffer
when Buyo, Madrid's goalie was sent off for wasting time, panic
stations Mchel had to put the goalie's gloves and jersey, and for the
very first time was allowed oficially to grab the balls the fotballs
this is, since he was Known to grab footballers balls' as in the case
    of Valderrama.
Barcelona are making good progress and the confidence of their
manager is a BIG threat to Real Madrid, and Rafal Mendoza acknowledge
that by saying that on Yesterday's performance which was a disgrace iin
his own words, the tiltle chase is wide open as Bara is already uot of
the King's cup, so the only thing in their minds will be the European
Title , added to which the League title wwill be a bonus.
Javier Clemente started his campaign with his right foot in front
, by defeating Jhon Toshack's Sociedad by 2-0.

18.80 ANTIC is being fired last nigth...PEKING::VILLEGASJThe sun always shines in La PalmaTue Jan 28 1992 13:4126

Not so bad, but not good enough, and we can use all kinds of
clichs to sum up the destiny of the latest casualty, weel I am
talking about the desmissal of Raddy Antic, Real Madrid were not very
happy we the style of football which doesn't create an atmosphere of
confidence, lets faced when it comes to top level management is either:
you are good, as it comes however, we are talking of n institution, so
geared up to good results, as well as having the squad of talented
players, that somehow is a dream, for any manager.
There is a parallel to what happen to the basketball team earlier
this month, an american that couldn't do any wrong last year, somehow
this year though, He couldn't put together a string of good results,
that is not what the fans expect, then, I suppose you have to honour
your word, by taking full responsability for not motivating your,
players to deliver the goods , that they are quite capable to do so, in
the case of Antic, a nice person, if I would dare to say , he had low
self-steem, because whenever, he was asked about the security of his
job and his objectives as a whole, normally he answered in a very
    hesitant mood.
By the way, he was not alone since Rayo Vallecano, leaders of the
second division, around christmas well a series of consecutive defeats,
last month represented that, the manager had to go, also last night.
    well that is all folks

18.82The perils of Top Management..PEKING::VILLEGASJThe sun always shines in La PalmaWed Jan 29 1992 09:3922

Dave, it si not just the fact of loosing two matches out in sixteen
games, but the real story comes much clear, if for instance I happen to
mention that over the last two months, the team, which by the way is in
fact a quite powerful squad, was getting too lay back, with a
comfortable lead of nearly 9 points, but just after christmas, when
playing terrible bad, they lost to Atltico de Madrid, is when panic
took place, so there is where you need a Good Manager, to motivate your
already talented squad, this I am afraid did not happen.
By the way he is not being kicked out of the club, just being given
another role, to take care of business, the current manager will become
a coach, in this case his name is known by almost everybody, Leo
    Benhaker.
Another manager, in trouble is Lus Aragons, last night there was a
meeting called by Mr Jess Gil, to announced certain new emergency
measures, one for instance is that the former Real Madrid player,
Losada, has been given three weeks holiday, perhaps by doing so it is
the end of his career with the club, however as far as Aragons goes as
far as I know at least he is in charge today, but He didn't say anything
to the journalist as he was leaving the Club's building.

18.83Lus Aragons: Didn't fail/succed either.PEKING::VILLEGASJThe sun always shines in La PalmaThu Jan 30 1992 14:5719

There was an announcemnet, last night which said that Lus Aragons was
staying in charge of Atltico' football team, it was an amicable
solution betweem him and the main man Jess Gil, the situation related
to Losada though was quite categoric, " He was given a chance to play
for a succesful team, but there was an evident lack of commitment,
which cannot be accepted , therefore he must go" .. those were the
words of the Seor Gil y Gil.
As far as Antic is concerned, he refused to take the job of General
Manager of the squad, therefore we may see him trying his lack
    elsewhere.
Javier Clemente, Espaol's new manager, with relation to the style
that Real Madrid is about to use, under Benhaker's rule, had said:
" what is the difference of beautiful football, an effective football,
lets go back to 83, when AC Milan destroyed, the so powerful Sapnish
champion, and now after all these years, to make such an statement, it
    is to be seen.."
    That is all ..

    	Espaol 1	Zaragoza 0
    	Gijn 1	Valladolid 0
    	Mallorca 2	Oviedo 1

The talking around 19.00 hrs yesterday as Real Madrid could only draw
at home to modest Cadiz, it was the first game for Leo Benhaker, and he
was quite philosophical about the result by saying, that things do not
change overnight, so at that time in the San Mams, at the end of the
first half Real Sociedad was doing well, but until the last minute when
Bakero a former Sociedad player scored to put the pressure on.
The second half was different as Bara lost the drive allowing the
young side managed by Toshack, to practically dictate the mood of the
game, as a result of that pressure they score the second and definite
goal that puts 4 points between Real Madrid and Barcelona.
It has to be said that the real surprise has to be Albacete,
candidates to play European competition next season which must feel
wonderful, since 2 years ago they were playing Second division
football, now they are at only 8 points of the leader Real Madrid,
considering that the second Bara is at four points.
The bottom clubs are fighting for survival and Tenerife must be under a
lot of pressure because time is running out and so is the patience,
mind you they are playing well, somehow the results do not seem to turn
    out good for them.

Anyway the football was not brilliant and the Bialbao's goalie perhaps
need glasses, since it was mainly his fault on all the goals.
Barcelona on the other hand put up a good performance and destroyed the
defence of a good team like Zaragoza, but to make a valid comment I
would say that out of those teams fighting for thr title, Barcelona
seemed the most accomplished team., with a lot of confindence and good
    football too.
Atltico Madrid is enjoying a good recovery, and this time the victims
were Espaol, the team at the bottom of the table, mind you Javier

Tonight the national team, is to face players with no country,
otherwise known as Commonwealth of Independent States, the not so very
nice news involved Rafal Martn Vasquez, who was not convoque by the
new manager to play on tonight, considering that he Vasquez was
substitute for the Italian Team Torino, perhaps it was in the interest
of the team as a whole that Viera, forgot about him, however Vasquez
was very upset and declare to the press that, He might not be
interested to play for the National side in the future, nevertheless by
law if the manager wants a player, that player has to complied with his
duty, on the other hand though Fnseca is making his debut, and I hope
is a good one, since that every week he was producing those memorable
performances for his team Real Valladolid.

The week-end was full of incidents, one managerial casualty, some
memorable goals, some philosophical views, long faces, and a ongoing
    record breaking performance.
To start the sad departure of Iaki Saez, the Athletic de Bilbao
manager, after losing at home and moving dangerously to the relagation
zone, was to much to handle.
The other manager in trouble, is Leo Benhaker who on his declarations
to the press said that.." ..every year at around January nad February,
the club goes trhough a bad patch, and this year is no different at
all, however now the league has turn RED HOT, with Atltico improving
all the time, and Paulo Futre , perhaps playing his best football ever,
and by the way, He hasn't sign yet for Atltico de Madrid, there are
rumours linking him with Real Madrid, and some italian teams also.
Barcelona had the greatest opportunity to go to the top, only if
the Asturian Club determination stop that , yet again , as it happens
Bara lost 3 points to them, mind you next week Real Madrid have to
play Sporting, and the week later is the big clash Between Bara and
Real Madrid at the Nou Camp.
The record breaking club is without a doubt Benito Floro's Team,
    Albacete , 14 games withput a defeat.
The most spectacular goal of the day has to be Fonseca's for
Valladolid, only to compete with Cremonesse's goal keeper in the
    Italian league.
    That is all good people..
    until next time...

Well my friends, this is going to be my last week with DIGITAL,
therefore the jinx of the Spanish league Notes, gets another one , just
like before with Juanjo ( Juan Jos Arevalillo ), it is my turn now
and I am Juan Jos Villegas.
Anyway, Real Madrid still leads the table, followed very closely by
their archrivals Bara the difference is one point which could go
either way when they meet at the Camp Nou, next week end, on what is
going to be the clash of the year so far, the most striking thing is
that Albacete is the team of the moment, with 15 games without a
defeat, and to show thir progress at the moment they are in fourth
place alongside Atltico de Madrid with 30 points.
Tommorrow I shall write my last note, with the league table, and
perhaps, somebody will let me use the notes facility, to carry on with
the Spanish League results, since my move is to a partner company,
we are going to be based at the same building, the difference being,
only we have to report to a different boss.

Real Madrid are through to the Spanish cup final and they also ended Johan
Cruyffs unbeaten home run. They won the game 2-1 (agg 3-2) and they also played
the game with 10 men from the 34th minute on. Koeman hit the bar twice, one from
a free kick and one from the penalty spot. Barca were very unlucky to loose this
game, they dominated most of the precedings but just couldn't put the ball in the
net.

This is barca first home defeat since Cruyff took over back in 1988, that's a
fairly impressive home record.

Well if ye think the Irish are lucky then what would you call Barcelona???
for the third time in a row they have won the league on the last day of the
season.... The past two seasons Real Madrid lost out in their last game losing
to Teneriffe on both occasions... this year it was La Coruna who have
practically been on top all season except for the end....

While Barcelona beat Seville 5-2 after been down 2-1 at half time La Coruna
only managed a draw and also missed a penalty in the last minute. Both Barca
and Coruna finished with the same number of points but direct comparision gave
Barca the title.... Barca beat Curuna at home 3-0 while coruna only beat Barca
1-0......

On wednesday Cruyffs team take on Ac Milan in the European cup in Athens I
only hope Barca can play them off the pitch and win by two or three goals...

La Coruna, Real Madrid, Real Saragosa, and Athletico Bilbao have all
