    So,

anyone getting out in the first winds of '97 ? I'm trying to get a
day off later this week if the winds look likely to hold up,

Anybody out there ? Surely, with the windiest period for years in the
UK/Northern Europe there must be some DECies sailing ?

I've been lucky, five sails in the last 10 days, 2 on 5.8, 2 on 5.0 and
one on 4.3(still too big). The Screamer 268 is brilliant, whenever
anybody asks me about it I go into serious rave mode. I've been
sailing off the seafront at Exmouth, inside the sandbar and outside,
and it excels in flat water (fast on the speed course next to the
sandbar !) and in the waves, jumps better than I'm able to (Ouch!)
and rides in on the swell lines lovely. The conditions have been
brilliant, outside has been 2-5 ft swell, either cross-on, cross or
    cross-off. Cross-off is the 2ft range, cross-on 4-5ft. with varying
    in between.

It's been a bit expensive on kit too... Somehow my Stix 32cm fin is
beginning to shear from the base of the fin at the back forwards, I
noticed the split yesterday just before I walked across the sandbar,
lucky as otherwise I would have been finless a long way out. So that
needs replacing, shame as it's the best fin I had and the replacements
is 70 UK pounds ! I also got careless and scraped my wave fin quite
badly, and that needs a major re-profiling to shorten it another 1/4".
My body is aching, I've got bruises on my head, leg and feet ! Luckily
I have to work this weekend so I get an enforced rest period, hopefully
the wind will continue through for a long time yet !

	Anybody else been out ?

long time no read, sorry to much internet going on these days.

Sailing started quite late here in holland because of the Ice and the
cold temperatures. Sailed only 5 times yet. 5.0 & 6.0
last weekend wind was ok but the direction not, no wave sailing just
slalom (The old classic '89 screamer, still going fast)

Just broke my beloved and 5 times repaired Pointer 36cm fin, its now
on the bottom of the lake....
Bad thing is they don't sell them anymore (still us finbox) and the
newer fins are all much smaller, giving less lift and acceleration.

So if anyone knows about a windsurfing hawaii POINTER 36cm US-finbox,
    mail me !! [email protected]

    Thangs,
