| Which version of DECnet (on the Mac)? Versions prior to V1.4 have been
problematic on PCI-based PowerMac's such as the 7500 (though this may or may
not be relevant to this particular customer's problem). Is this problem with
one of many 7x00's, or one of one 7x00's? Problems with 8x00's, 9x00's,
other PCI-based Power Mac's?

| Hi Again,
Yes, they have other models that are identical and they are working
fine. This model also worked fine at some point. They are using
DECnet 1.2 on all of the machines.
Thanks,

| So get DECnet updated and see if that helps. If not, it will be a matter of
their getting someone to evaluate the ethernet controller on the problem
system and/or running a detailed comparison of the other software
(extensions, control panels) between that system and a similar system
without the problem. As a start, the customer might remove all *unnecessary*
extensions and control panels and see if that helps. I'd recommend the
DECnet update in any case.
