| There is no such thing available in java. You maybe thinking abut
Javascript: there used to be a way to do just that with javascripts
but I have no idea if it's still possible.

Let's be clear. One has access to 'username' in the Java language.
However, from an *applet*, access to username is specifically denied,
as part of the Applet security model. See page 194 of 'Java In A
Nutshell'.

I usually use Netscape Navigator from a PC which doesn't do Email in
any shape, form or color...
