143.0. "Perf.tuning with TxRPC" by ANNECY::SAEZ_M () Thu Feb 27 1997 10:30

	Our customer will use TxRPC in a configuration with Digital Unix servers
	and Windows 95 clients.

	Having to provide some performance tuning guidelines I did not find any
	performance info in the "Tuxedo TxRPC Guide".

	1/ I would like to know if load balancing is usable with TxRPC.

	It seems to me that load balancing cannot be used with TxRPC because
	TxRPC services are advertised at interface level and not at routine
	level. So PRIO service parameter cannot be used in UBBCONFIG, and
	LDBAL = Y, in RESOURCES section, might not be of any use also.

	Am I wrong ?

	2/ Does data compression apply the same way when using TxRPC ? So could
	we benefit from the setting of TMCMPLIMIT, in MACHINES section,
	(and even TMNETLOAD) ?

	Thanks for any hints...

143.1Hmmm, TxRPC you say...SAWA::STEFANOWICZArtur Stefanowicz, DB & TP GrpFri Mar 07 1997 06:3015
    Our customer had simmilar questions. Basicly, all such
    features as load-balancing and compression should work.
    We will further work on that and will try to give you
    exact answer.
    The problem is that there are no real customers for Tuxedo
    TxRPC, as far as I know from BEA. Many customers are
    evaluating product without production roll-out.
    In our case we discouraged our customer from using TxRPC,
    as it seems it will not be BEA 'mainstream' direction.
    This situation is as with our DECdtm XA interface. It exists,
    but who uses it, and who supports it?
    Anyway, we'll work on that further, if this is crucial for
    you.
    Best,
    Artur
