I had to replace a mouse on a AlphaServer 600 today... Didn't have the same part available (30-46117-01)- so I tried a PC7XS-CA, and it seems to work OK. I then checked around some other PS/2 style mice and found at least 2 more numbers for what appeared to be very similar parts. So, the question is... Is there 1 universal part number we could stock that would work as a replacement for any PS/2 Mouse? Thanx, Dale [Posted by WWW Notes gateway]

There is a problem with differing voltage levels. A PS2 mouse from a
VXT will turn into a molten lump of plastic if hooked up to a pc.
Voltage specs should be checked before attempting to connect an
alternative.
