442.0. "TIMA TOOLS Article MAX reached???" by NECSC::MURPHY () Thu Feb 27 1997 14:59

    Hi,

    I did my best to search the conference for a similar situation but
    couldn't find a match.

    Here's what I,ve got;

    VMS		5.5-2
    Stars	2.6-2
    TIMA	2.4

    On of the users has the following problem:

    >The TOOLS portion of his TIMA account has exceeded the maximum
    >articles so he doesn't see any new KITS that are in TIMA.

    >He hasn't been receiving TOOLS articles since around Jan 97.

    >He searchs for a new TOOL article and doesn't see it. He valaidated
    >that the article is indeed in the TIMA database, but he's not getting
    >the new articles.

    Any ideas on why this is happening or how I can bump up his article max
    would be greatly appreciated.

    I'm not sure if it's relevent but his VMS account has 20,000 in
    diskquota remaining and his disk has 2340928 free blks.

    Thanks,
    Paul  (non-TIMA user)

    To increase the maximum number of articles that a stars database can
    hold you can use the procedure STARS$SYS:STARS$INCREASE_DATABASE_SIZE.COM

    Pass parameter P1 as the STARS database directory specification and pass
    P2 as the new number of articles that the database will hold.

    $ @STARS$SYS:STARS$INCREASE_DATABASE_SIZE.COM -
    	TIMA$TOOLS_ABSTRACT:[ECO_MUP_CERT] 4000

    Then to get the database up to date run the TIMA MANAGER utility and do
    a DB_COPY EXTRACT of the database in question.

    Login to the TIMA_MGR account

    $ TIMA MANAGER
    TIMA_DBA> DB_COPY

    select 'Tools databases'
    select 'EXTRACT'
    /SINCE=1-JAN-1997
    select 'ECO_MUP_CERT'
    ^Z
    Specify Master Node to copy the file(s) from: USTIMA

    Thank you mister Vaeth!

    Your suggestion seems to have done the trick.
