    does anyone have any ideas on this - would this be better posted in the
    mailworks conference as it seems to be mailworks that's causing the
    problem?

    thanks

    Lynn
819.2Been there, done thatGALVIA::JFEGANJoe Fegan@iloTue Jan 28 1997 09:5510
    I have already posted a question in the Mailworks conference to ask
    what the likely causes of the error %MUAS-E-SVRUNAACC are. It is, as
    you pointed out, coming from the MailWorks server rather than TeamRoute
    itself.

    What version of MailWorks are they using? Is MailWorks itself working
    from the DCL prompt? It may be something to do with the restart of the
    mail servers. I won't really know until I get some more feedback.

    Joe.
819.3KERNEL::ANDERSONLWed Jan 29 1997 07:009
    Hi Joe,

    thanks for the response.

    The customer says mailworks was fine until he did the installation.
    After it failed he had to restart mailworks as teamlinks users could no
    longer connect (although all the mailworks processes were present)

    Lynn
819.4if at first you don't succeed...GALVIA::JFEGANJoe Fegan@iloWed Jan 29 1997 11:5111
Lynn,

The problem seems to be that the MailWorks server didn't restart properly
during the installation. Why this would happen I don't know so I'm not
going to be able to reproduce it.

I know it's obvious, but have they tried the installation again since the
manual restart of MailWorks? It may be that this will have sorted out the
problem. What kind of machine are they using? and what version of MailWorks?

Joe.

    Well we've retried the installation and it worked - almost!...

    the customer had a check_node procedure running that meant mailworks

going wrong with the IVP. Can you please run the IVP manually and post the
resulting log file here. This should do the trick:

819.7It works!.....MARVEL::ANDERSONLThu Feb 06 1997 11:1542
    Hi Joe

    well we've finally got teamroute installed and the ivp running
    successfully.

    The ivp was failing because his system does not have the a1mail command
    and the ivp uses it

    From IVP log:

    $ OPEN/WRITE FILE SYS$SCRATCH:tmr$vmsvt_ivp_scratch.com;
    $ WRITE FILE "$ A1MAIL"
    $ WRITE FILE "DIRECTORY/NEW/APPLICATION=TMR/SINCE="" 16:13:38.04"""
    $ WRITE FILE "EXIT"
    $ CLOSE FILE
    $ !
    $ output_file = "SYS$SCRATCH:tmr$vmsvt_ivp.out;"
    $ DEFINE/USER SYS$ERROR NL:
    $
    @SYS$SCRATCH:tmr$vmsvt_ivp_scratch.com;/OUTPUT=SYS$SCRATCH:tmr$vmsvt_ivp.out;
    $error_exit:
    $ IF (got_message .NE. 1)
    $ THEN
    $   WRITE SYS$OUTPUT ""

    $ WRITE SYS$OUTPUT "Error occurred loading templates."
    Error occurred loading templates.

    I understand a1mail would only work if he had had a really old version
    of dmw installed - this is a new installation of DMW V1.3a

    We set up a symbol for a1mail :== dmw and the IVP ran successfully!...

    Just one more question - does Teamroute need a1mail defined or will it
    run without it?....

    Thanks very much for the help

    Lynn

819.8A1MAIL command is only needed by the IVPGALVIA::JFEGANJoe Fegan@iloThu Feb 06 1997 12:3611
    Lynn,

    A1MAIL only needs to be defined to run the IVP. You won't need it for
    day to day work. The problem is just that at the time the IVP was
    written, which was a couple of years ago now, A1MAIL was the command
    that was used to start the MailWorks VT client. It was subsequently
    changed to DMW.

    Glad to hear it's working now.

    Joe.
