476.18 | Step by step procedure! | GLOWS::PEROS | Fri Mar 21 1997 07:48 | 13
I got the latest patches on a floppy and I got my Keaterm connection to a HSJ40. Now what? I tried running hs_patch.ktm under KEA Macro, but nothing happens. I got WOW laptop, Kea V4.2. Could somebody give me a step by step procedure on how to apply these patches and what should happen and how long it takes. Thanks, Emil
476.19 | Click on Patch.KTC | SWAM1::WOLFE_LE | Fri Mar 21 1997 08:52 | 13
Instead of running the .KTM file, click or run the patch.KTC file. since the .KTC file type is associated with the KEA application, it will automatically fire up KEAterm. The program will then try to make a connection to the HSX through comm1 and do a "show this". This is how the macro detects what type of HSx it's connecting to. It will then bring up the correct menu of patches for the HSD, HSJ or HSZ. So be sure and copy all the .KTM patch string macros into the same directory so PATCH.KTC can reference them. If you receive a macro error, just click on "Ignore all", and the marco will continue running. Someone may try setting the new KEA 4.2 to enable execution of old macros to fix this problem. -Lee |
