1133.0. "Biological slogan wanted" by PEKING::SULLIVAND (Not gauche, just sinister) Tue Jan 31 1995 07:44

My wife has recently moved to a new job as Head of Biology in a girls'
grammar school in England. She has discovered that the Chemistry
Department have a sign saying "Chemists have Solutions" and she doesn't
want to be outdone in the slogan department.

My initial suggestions have been deemed unacceptable for some reason:

    o Biologists have sex
o Biologists take down their genes

    so I've come up with

o Botanists have style (a bit more subtle, this)

    Any JOYOFLEXER suggestions welcome !

    Dave

I'm sure this isn't quite what you're looking for, but
I thought it was kind of funny - "Biology is the splice of life."

    G'day,

    Biologists do it, naturally!

    Biologists have chemistry...

    Biologists live! (live or live)

    Bs are nuclear people

    Bs have motions

    Bs have life

    just some random thoughts..

A slight variation on one of .2's suggestions adds punch:

    Biologists have a life.
1133.5PASTIS::MONAHANhumanity is a trojan horseTue Jan 31 1995 21:415
    Biologists into cells!
    Biologists, a slice of life!

(One of the classic mathematical ones is "Every couple in a field has
    its moment".)

Biology: turn over a new leaf and count the greenfly.
Biology: it accounts for wine and women, and we're working on the song.

Biology is when body chemistry gets physical :-)

harumph. Chemistry is but a mere offshoot of physics, tyvm.

Well, don't forget that all of mathematics is founded on proof theory,
which is an application of theoretical computer science (Turing machines
etc.) And physics, being founded on mathematics, is a grandchild of
    computer science.

Genetics might be considered a more direct application of automata
theory. Mutations come from using a Pentium microprocessor, and
miscarriages come from DECwindows window system.
