| "Baby boomers" is the name of the group of people born in the "baby
boom" following World War II -- the birth rate in the US skyrocketed
for about ten-fifteen years... I'm not sure when the boom is said to
have ended, but it's somewhere around 1960 - 1962.

per thousand population. (It's been holding steady at about 15 per

| As you would expect from the big increase of births called the Baby Boom,
there is now the Shadow Boom. The babyboomers are having children now
though not in the explosive rate of their parents.
I suspect there will be a boomlet when the shadow-boomers have kids.
All this vaguely sounds like a periodic oscillation with dampening...
