602.0. "Holiday Humor for those who love puns!" by DECSIM::HEILMAN (Buckeroo Hanzai) Thu Dec 22 1988 19:05
Here is the text from a Holiday Card that we just received (for
the general amusement of the JOY_OF_LEX crowd):
The RHODES-GOLDBERG Holiday card collaboration for 1988, which asks
the musical question, "Harmony puns are there in this parody?"
"Harp!" the herald angels sing,
"Gloria needs a new G-string."
Brass and winds sonata her style.
Gloria plays something viol.
Like her teacher, Isaac Stern,
Gloria leaves no tone unsterned.
St. Peter warned her of her sins:
"Too much sax and violins!"
"Harp!" the herald angels sing,
"Gloria needs a new G-string."
"Harp!" the herald angels sing,
"Gloria's harp snared on her wing."
Feathers on her strings are stuck.
Gloria's down on her pluck.
If she can't recover her quills,
Oboi! She'll give the troups a trill!
A reputation will befall,
Gloria, the sax cymbal!
"Harp!" the herald angels sing,
"Gloria needs a new G-string."
