399.1...too wet to plowSAHQ::LILLYACTor in AtlantaTue Aug 18 1987 09:334
    I'm not sure where it came from, but in the farm country in Wisconsin
    the saying went something like:

    I might as well (whatever). I can't dance and its too wet to plow.

    Not only can I not dance, not plow (because its too wet), but its
    too dry to plant.

399.3Boy it is hot!!MPGS::BUSWELLWed Aug 19 1987 16:016
    Might as well because I can't dance.I can't dance because when I
    dance I sweat,and when I sweat I stink and when I stink the girls
    won't come near me, so I might as well.

    I have heard it this way many times/

    How about this one that I have heard many times;

    Can't dance,to fat to fly,and to ugly to love.

    Can't dance; too wet to plow; hens won't lay...

    Locally: I was runnin' uphill; the sun was in my eyes!
