262.0. "Pitch it, don't parse it." by BAEDEV::RECKARD () Mon Oct 27 1986 07:34

	Have you noticed the Merrill-Lynch advertisement during the
    World Series?
    	"... To know no boundaries is what this world should be".

    	This sounds to be in the same category as "Winston tastes good
    like a cigarette should".

Hmmm. Parses OK to my ear. Try rearranging the words and punctuation a bit,
changing only the style, and it comes out

    	"What this world should be is: To know no boundaries".

There are certainly a lot worse examples out there.

    Or how about:

     "No world-boundaries-to-be: know what this is?"

    The original and .1's modification are both poor English, and don't
    make grammatical sense.

    Perhaps they were talking about grammatical boundaries?

    By the way, are those words in the original James Bond tune (For
    Your Eyes Only)?
