240.0. "Memory Games" by GENRAL::TAVARES (Stay low and keep moving...) Fri Sep 12 1986 17:01
I'd like to start a topic on memory word games. In these games,
someone who "knows" challenges a "sucker" to repeat a sequence of
sentences after him (or her). A bet may perhaps be made, but its
not necessary, because the knower invariably winds up looking smug
while the sucker stumbles over somewhere between 5 or 7 sentences,
feeling very inadequate. Of course, I speak from experience...
Which brings me to my ulterior motive; I have one that was taught
to me in the service, which I have forgotten, except for parts that
rattle around in my brain at odd moments. It starts off innocently
enough:
One Hen,
Two Ducks,
Three Cackling Geese,
Four Corpulent Porpoises,
.
.
.
and so on to 9 something or other. Can anyone complete this one
for me, to stop the rattling? Or maybe we could stuff a few more
in there, kind of to fill the empty space and keep things from bouncing
around.
Enjoy, John
