141.0. "Sentence for Keyboard" by BEING::POSTPISCHIL () Wed Jan 29 1986 17:18

I am looking for sentences which contain each of the twenty-six letters exactly
once. Several months ago, I rearranged all of the letter keys on the keyboard
of my terminal. However, the arrangement (alphabetical order) is getting rather
boring, and I would like to change it. The rules are:

The arrangement should spell something that makes some sort
	of sense.

If possible, words should not be broken across the rows.

The arrangement should fit on the three rows of the keyboard
where the letters normally go. However, there is some room
for variation by moving some of the special character keys
around. Basically, the first row can contain up to 12 letters,
the second up to 11, and the third up to 10.

It would be nice if it were possible to separate words with
"spaces" in the form of special character keys, but this is
	not required.

The shortest English sentence which I know of that contains all the
letters of the alphabet is:

Jackdaws love my big sphinx of quartz.

This has an extra i, o, and s, and two extra a's, but I don't think you'll
do much better.

Okay, if we can't do that, what's the longest sentence that uses
    no letter twice?
