95.0. "Usage on television" by PENNSY::CANTOR () Sun Sep 01 1985 11:59

I heard this on Showtime:

    "The lost episodes [of the Honeymooners] premier again for the first time,
only on Showtime."

This seems to be both contradictory and redundant!

After a three year hiatus, another entry:

The U.S. National Basketball Association has replaced all their clocks with
new clocks that show the time remaining to the tenth of a second. Last night
the announcer said,

	"And now we get our first look at the new metric clocks"

    And what about "new and improved"?

    Shouldn't that be an either/or scenario?

    Yes, but "either new or improved" lacks a certain je ne sais quoi.

TV news summary of provision in pending Massachusets legislation:

	- Convicted murderers will not be released until
	  victims have been notified

Well, OK, maybe you can expand the definition of "victims" to include friends
and relatives. But I find the statement rather humorous as it stands.
