It has to do with the fact that each password is nine characters long. The sum of the ranks of the first and last characters of each of the pairs adds to the same thing. Please see note 205 in the math notes file for a more detailed babble. | |||||

If you have SHELF installed, you can access the math notes file (and any other notes filesof interest) without knowing where it is (which is why I can't just tell you where it is even though I visit it often!). Do this: $ shelf/shop 2 math In general, SHELF is nice because you get to visit notes files by "English words" instead of "node::sys$notes:obscure_file.nam". If your system manager is having any trouble installing SHELF, I can probably give some assistance (or delegate some assistants). |
