965.6 | Looking for Sony parts source | TLE::INGRAM | oops | Tue Apr 29 1997 14:34 | 17 |
Since MIL Electronics of Waltham, MA is apparently out of business, can anyone recommend a good local (southern NH, eastern MA) source for Sony parts? Does the service center in Westwood sell just parts? The parts I'm looking for are a horizontal driver (2SC2688-LK) and a horizontal output (2SD1941-06) transistor. I'm not interested in 3rd party replacement parts (ECG, NTE, etc.) and the suffixes on the parts lead me to believe they may have been selected for particular characteristics like gain. For this reason, I hesitate to use generic 2SC2688 and 2SD1941 parts that are available from MCM Electronics as they may not work properly. Thanks, Larry

RE: .-1 Use the standard parts. The extra designations are for Sony part number listings only. I've been using standard parts and subs for years without problems. I also agree that NTE subs are not the best... Dan
