1468.0. "Definition of "YASHER"?" by ATLANA::SHERMAN (Debt Free! Thank You, Jesus!) Wed Jul 26 1995 22:26

   Shalom!,

My pastor used the word "YASHER" the other night in a sermon, and
described it as an old Hebrew word that connoted scripturally-correct
   behaviour and attitude.

Searching this conference, I have seen this word used as an adjective,
so apparently it is still viable in conversation and writing. Could
one of you fine scholars please look up this word (your choice of
sources) and provide me the definition(s)?

   Thanks for your help!

Perhaps you mean Yashar, which means straight, from which also follows
    correct behaviour.
