Please, clarify. It was always my understanding that Shabbat is simply
the sabbath or shaboss(?). Forgive my ignorance but, what is the
relationship between Shabbat,April 30, and San Francisco?

The Sabbath ends at local sundown (plus a safety factor). An observant Jew
does not cook, work, use electricity, nor kindle a fire until the Sabbath
is over. .0 was asking for the exact time of local sundown (+) in San Francisco
because it makes a practical difference as to what time to set for social
engagements, etc.

| | You can also determine the end of Shabbat by the stars in the sky, assuming
no cloud cover. If you can see 3 small stars and 3 large stars with unaided
vision (No telescope) Shabbat is considered to be out.

I don't know how much this helps but candle lighting for Los Angeles
for 4/29 is 7:17 which means sunset is 7:35. Add to that 50-72 minutes
(depending on minhag) for Tzais and add/subtract the difference between
L.A. and San Francisco, which I assume is small. Obviously, not exact
but it will give you a reasonable estimate.

| | Candle lighting in San Francisco on 29 April is 7:40. Depending on how you
hold, Shabbat will end at approximately 8:45 or later.
BTW, LA is 7:17, 23 minutes earlier.
