1386.0. "Some unanswered questions" by EVTSG8::DUSATKO () Wed Feb 23 1994 16:27

A few questions I have had and wonder if anyone knows the answers to
    any of them.

When the Passover lamb is mentioned in the Law as to be kept until the
14th and then in the evening hours killed, (Ex.12:6) does this mean
the day of the 13th after sunset or the day of the 14th after
sunset? In Nu.33:3, it was the evening of the 14th when Passover
was celebrated, with the 'morrow' being the 15th day of Nissan.

And a second question. Disregarding the current calendar and going back
almost 2000 years, would Thursday be considered the day of preparation
if it were the 14th, since the day of the 15th, Friday, would be the
Passover feast followed by the Sabbath, the 16th of Nissan?
Would a Passover which fell on a thursday(15th) ever be considered a
    Sabbath?

And a third question. What ever happened to the Arc of the Covenant?

And a fourth question. When did the daily sacrifices stop?

    Thank you for any replies.

> What ever happened to the Arc of the Covenant?

no one really knows.

> lamb was killed after sunset on the 13th, it was sacrificed on the 14th
then eaten after sunset on the 14th (which is the 15th).

Passover is never considered a Sabbath unless it actually falls on the Sabbath.
Thursday could be preparation, Friday first day of Passover. In other words
in theory the "Last Supper" could have been the first night of Passover which
is I think what the question really is.

> When did the daily sacrifices stop?
not sure

The sacrifices required the presence of the Temple. The daily
sacrifices stopped, perforce, when the Temple was destroyed.
