1367.0. "Need spelling & grammer help" by RANGER::GUTFREUND (Keith Gutfreund) Fri Oct 01 1993 17:19
I'm filling in a ketubah for some friends (nice calligraphy) and
my grade school Hebrew lessons are failing me. Can anyone try to help
me with the following spellings?
1. Grooms father's name is Betzaleal (beh-tza-layl). I know that
this is probably Yiddish and not Hebrew.
2. The 18th day of the month would be spelled out as:
... bet chet mem shin heh(?), vov ayin sin resh yud mem-so-feet,
yud vov mem-so-feet, lamed chet vov daled shin, alef lamed vov lamed
(I think the above is correct except not sure about the final heh
in the first word - is it necessary?)
3. Estes Park, Colorado 8-) Anyone want to take a stab at spelling
that for me?
4. Bride's name is Susan Marie.
5. I still have the Groom's mother's spelling to do and perhaps the
bride's parents (if I can't figure them out I'll post them)
The couple is not very religious, that's why they asked me (the expert)
to do the ketubah for them! Hah!
By the way, Estes Park, CO, was a beautiful place for the wedding!
Thanks for any help
Keith

| If it is a yiddish name, check with the groom to find out how they
spell it. There can be more than one way to spell a name, and it
may not be phonetic.
In my case, my yiddish name is Feivel, spelled Fay Yud Yud Vav Vav
Eyen Lamed.
