| Boy, you are a glutton for punishment! (ezah fryar!...) Coming back
into the maelstrom takes courage mon frere. At least you have a
pleasant climate and surroundings this time...jealous!
Controversial topics? What's your opinion on abortion? (:-) Just
kidding!

| Shalom Greg,
Ma nishma? I was wondering when you were going to stop your water born
frivolity and get back to work 8^{). Is HEP letting you stay in Hawaii
or are you going back to Switzerland or are you not doing HEP stuff any
more?

1297.5 | Short news bulletin | AKAMAI::GREG | If idiots had wings, this place would be an airport | Wed Jan 06 1993 10:07 | 12 |
| Ahhh Gavriel, long time no hear from you. Well yes, and without going into a
lot of detail, I'm supposed to be on relocation here and I'm working on a
project for the Swedish Navy in collaboration with the folks over at
Oceanography, continuing with the neutrino astrophysics experiment as well as a
medical project. So keep quite busy. Also spent quite some time aboard ship,
the latest one a US Navy vessel was quite interesting as we tested mating
water-tight electrical connectors at -4800 meters working with pressures of
roughly 8000psi from a manned submersible; well until the manipulator arms died
on us. Anyway if any of you are interested in deep sea oceanographic stuff just
send me mail and I'll try and fill you in. Mail at either akamai::greg or
decwrl::"[email protected]". BTW is our charming lady friend still
around with her cat? We used to have such great discusions with her...

| To the last question, yes. But not for long. WSL is closing and I believe
that she is leaving DEC when that happens.

Sorry to hear that. Does that mean WRL is also packing up? Hope you
have somewhere to go!

| No, WRL is safe. There were humongeous rumors that the local research
groups were going to be hit, but they all survived.
I'm talking to some local Dec places, but it's unclear if they will be
able to hire. Fortunately, the local job market seems to be pretty
good, at least for senior people; I have a number of "second interviews"
set up over the next couple of weeks. I'm just about ready to retire
and grow tomatoes after the chaos of first WSE and then WSL getting hit,
however. (I know you'll miss me :-)

We will all miss you if you go. You've provided us with some challenges
throughout the years, hope that we have also managed to paint a more balanced
picture than you had initially.
Anyway good luck in whatever you choose to do!

been cut back, it is entirely possible that he is gone again. He certainly has
not been active in here.
