| Hi,
Sorry about the typo. Note 1181 is an addition to note 1173... I hit
the wrong key and now I do not know how to move this note. Help.

1181.2 | Thoughts | CARTUN::LAVY | | Fri Mar 06 1992 21:41 | 11 |
| Hi,
1. I know that there are tapes from which one can learn the Haftara.
The Israeli Book Store might know about them.
2. Celebrating the Bar-Mitzva in Jerusalem next to the Wailing Wall,
will be an unforgetful experience. Maybe someone from DEC Israel can
help you in finding a Rabbi for the ceremony.
Good Luck,

1181.3 | also at Masada | CADSYS::HECTOR::RICHARDSON | | Mon Mar 09 1992 18:35 | 12 |
| It is also possible to celebrate the bar mitzvah at Masada - there were
three or four groups there when we visited there (June of '83). I
don't know how you organize this, though - at least one the families
had flown to Israel with their own Torah from New York for the
occasion. I think people do this rather than going to the Wall because
the women of the family can participate - the partition at the Wall is
too tall for even me to see over, and I remember seeing a lot of women
and girls climbing up on it (which I am sure is strictly frowned on,
but no one seemed to be trying too hard to stop them) in order to catch
glimpses of their sons/brothers.

1181.4 | And she's tall | DECSIM::HAMAN::GROSS | The bug stops here | Mon Mar 09 1992 20:44 | 6 |
| Charlotte and I talk eye-to-eye and I'm 6 ft tall. If _she_ can't see over
the crowd, few women can.
I also know of families doing it at Masada.
