1142.0. "Hebrew version of a book?" by MR4DEC::DTOBIN () Mon Dec 16 1991 14:50

I have a special request addressed to my colleagues in Israel. My
daughter attends a Jewish day school (3rd grade) and is doing well in
    her Hebrew studies.

One of her recent reading interests (in English) is a series of comic
books starring a character named Tin-Tin. The author is Herge. These
books (20 or 30 of them in the series) seem to have been originally
written in French in the 1970s and have been translated into many
    languages, including Hebrew.

I would really like to get one of the books in Hebrew for her.

Do any of you know of these books? Are they still in print in Israel?
If so, I would really appreciate the favor of getting one purchased and
sent to me for her. Tell me how you would like me to handle the money
transfer and I will take care of it (check, money order, cash).

    Many thanks,
    Dan Tobin

It pre-dates the 70s. I remember watching "Herge's Adventures of Tin-Tin"
in Europe during the 60s.

Tin-Tin has been shown on Israel TV, but I've not seen a translated book. I'll
ask my children when I get home tonight (if they are still awake :-(

You might also want to contact the Israel Bookshop in Brookline. I have seen
translated versions of some popular childrens' books there. If they don't have
it, they might be able to order it.
