| Re: -1
The JCRC is the Jewish Community Relations Council. The purpose
of the rally is to protest the outrageous and growing Jew-hatred
evidenced recently in the Jew-baiting of Jeffries and the Crown
Heights pogrom.
Here are some pearls taken at random from the most recent issue
(10/5/91) of the NY Amsterdam News ("The New Black View"):
Jews are only 2.5% of the US population, however, 20 of the
country's 66 billionaires and at least 100 of the "Forbes"
magazine's 400 richest Americans are Jews.(Ed. note: you
certainly wouldn't know it from the food they serve in the
yeshivas)... Can there be a genuine alliance between these
rich Jews and their maids?... Beyond Helmsley and Trump,
the vast majority of New York's big developers are Jews.
There are similar Jewish realty moguls in our other major
cities... A small number of rich Hollywood Jews give to
the (Democratic) party for liberal reasons. There economic
priority is federal spending... because that increases the
value of their property...
What reason would someone have for scrutinizing the "Forbes 400"
list in search of Jewish-sounding names? What do you suppose
is the agenda of a paper that will rarely print the word "Jew"
without the adjective "rich" preceding it, especially when the
audience is largely comprised of individuals who are economically
hard-pressed?
These are precisely the tactics of the 1920's and 30's Nazis,
fanning the flames of jealousy and hatred of the economically
depressed population for their own political and financial gain.
The haters must be exposed and fought by every means available --
but first and foremost we must demonstrate our unity and deter-
mination by a mass gathering of decent people. Come indeed --
and bring a few thousand friends with you!

will not fail you, nor forsake you.

the appointed hour, or is there somebody to coordinate with?

| Re: -1
I've just been told that the address for the rally has changed.
It will still be at 1 PM this Sunday, Oct. 13, but it will be
held at UNION SQUARE (14th Street and Park Avenue South) instead
of Foley Square. The march will proceed up Park Ave. to 21rst St.,
turn left to Madison Ave., ending at 25th St. and Madison. At that
point, several national and local politicans are scheduled to speak,
as well as religious leaders.
It seems that there will be quite a few BAGELERS there, and this
may be an opportune time for a get-together. Any interest?
As far as coordination (I guess you mean transportation from Mass.?)
I've asked the JCRC about this, and when they let me know, I'll pass
on the info.

I wish I could be there with you all. Tonight in synagogue, I will
ask that the community pray for help against what is becoming a dangerous
undercurrent in this society; be assured that I will accompany
you in spirit.
