1088.0. "New Orthodox shul" by HPSPWR::SIMON (Curiosier and curiosier...) Wed Jun 26 1991 03:28
At a wedding at our sinagogue last week I met a young rabbi from New
York who was researching the possibilities of opening an Orthodox shul
in Merrimac Valley. He wants to open it in Andover, MA, by the high
holidays this fall. He realized that there are possibly thousands of
Jews living in the area, but he has a problem of how to reach them.
He would appreciate if those are interested gave him a call.
His name is rabbi Asher Bronstein,
617-782-0683 office,
617-333-0577 home.

1088.1 | Isn't this backwards? | DECSIM::HAMAN::GROSS | The bug stops here | Wed Jun 26 1991 17:54 | 6 |
| My curiosity is piqued. The usual proceedure is for a group of Jews to
get together and decide to form a congregation. They find a location to
hold services and decide to get a rabbi last. Rabbi Bronstein's idea
seems to be the exact reverse. Why is this?

| Depends on whether he can afford it. Ira Korff apparently owns the
shul he runs in Medfield :^)
