| There was a bomb threat at my daughters' school ,Bais Yaakov, this past
weekend. There are also new security guards at my sons' Yeshivah.
Unfortunately, we are all (westerners/Jews/anti-Iraq Arabs) potential
victims to terrorists.

| According to my wife, there were security guards all over the JCC in Newton
last night too.

| When I went to pick up my son from Hebrew School on Tuesday, the doors
were locked. I knocked and someone called out from the inside for me
to identify myself. They had also received calls. Joshua has not gone
back. Maybe I'm overly paranoid, but I'd never forgive myself if
anything were to happen. This is at Temple Shalom in Colorado Springs.

| My wife, who works for Federation MetroWest (Northern NJ) has, happily,
told me that they have hired security guards and are going to issue
id badges.
An interesting aside - a friend, who's law office is in the IBM
building in West Orange, told me tonight that they had two bomb threats
to the building today!

| The local (Acton, Ma) police notified us on Thurs that large signs stating
"Jews - Get out of Concord" were posted all over downtown Concord (Ma) and
that they suggested we "be aware". They advised that any large publically
announced gathering be postponed and they searched the building for how good
our security was. For a while at least, they requested that they be allowed
to sit in their squad cars outside during all services and Hebrew school
sessions (fortunately, because of Martin Luther King Day, school was closed
for Sun and Mon). They have arranged a meeting of all personnel with key
access to the building to go over some security considerations, with a special
message about never staying inside alone without locking yourself in.
Kinda real scarey and very close.

did not have a Bar Mitzvah this week)!!!

| I'm not sure what to make of this (as it can be interpreted a number of
ways AND, I saw it only briefly as I was in my car at the time), but
today in Concord Center (MA), there were a group of peace
demonstrators. They had the signs you would expect to see from a group
of peace demonstrators the last week or so ("Support the troops, Bring
Them Home", "No Blood for Oil", etc.) except for one fellow. He
was standing at the edge of the group and carried a sign that read, "No
Blood for Yitzhak" (Yitzhak being written in large, red letters, while
the rest of the sign was in smaller letters and in black.)
Whatever the interpretation/motivation, it's upsetting.

| There's an article in today's Boston Globe about anti-war groups being
infiltrated by anti-Semites like the Liberty Lobby, Lyndon LaRouche and
Louis Farrakhan.
