1025.0. "ISRAELI STATUS UPDATE" by SWAM2::PLAUT_MI () Fri Jan 18 1991 19:34

Can anyone confirm the number and extent of the casualties that
resulted from last night's missle attack? I saw the pictures from Tel
Aviv on CNN and find it a miracle that only 7-12 people were "lightly
injured". How extensive was the damage in Haifa? Was anyone hurt?
    Did missles hit anywhere else?

Could you please tell me if Ramat Gan, Kiryat Chaim or Petah Tikvah
were involved in any way? I have mishpocha at all of these locations.

I pray that the news reports are true that S.H. can't use chemical
warheads on his missles. I hope and pray that there will be no more
attacks on Israel and that the forces allied against S.H. will have a
quick and complete victory with a minimum number of casualties.

May all go well with all of you in Israel and all of us around the
world who are affected by this. May we have soon have a real and
    lasting peace.

Milt,

For obvious reasons no exact details are given of where the missiles fall...
But so far, miraculously, and I say it with full meaning of the word,
there has been no loss of life directly due to the bombing. A true "ness
galui".

We had three air-raid alerts Friday night in Jerusalem.
Two were false; The third was an attack, the details of which
   have already been reported.
Needless to say, we didn't get much sleep last night.
It was very eerie in shul this morning seeing people come
   in carrying their gas masks.

I'm not expecting a full nights sleep tonight either.
