901.0. "Oh, the other Rabbi Kushner!" by SQGUK::STEINBERGER () Fri Mar 02 1990 15:58
(taken from Maidenhead (England) Synagogue's Monthly Bulletin without
permission)
"In a world where atheists are often good people, and many ostensibly
religious people disappoint us, in a world where God is often a remote
presence, even for people who proclaim to believe, what promise does religion
hold for us? What can it offer? What difference can it really make to our
lives?
The author of the best selling book 'When Bad Things Happen to Good People'
talks about some of the fundamental questions of our time.
Rabbi (Harold - ed) Kushner, in a rare visit to this country (England - ed) from the United
States, will be available to autograph copies of his new book 'Who Needs God'
after the talk.
Tuesday 13th March, 8:00 P.M. Entrance Members L-2.00, Non-members L-3.00"
The event will take place at the Sternberg Centre, London, England. "Members"
refers to being a member of the Sternberg Centre.
If anyone from the Greater Reading (England) area plans to attend, please let
me know, as I and my wife are planning to go, and would appreciate company!

For anyone close enough to go to this speech, Rabbi
Kushner is a VERY good speaker and I would recommend
his speeches.
