805.1Can't play, but love to listen!CADSYS::RICHARDSONThu Oct 19 1989 11:065
    I'm not musical enough to help out, but I really like that kind of
    music! When you do get a group together, let us all know where you
    will be playing!!

I may be musical enough to help out though most of my experience is with
very different musical forms (folk, rock and jazz). I work at PKO and
would be interested in sitting in. I can play bass and/or guitar (much
better at bass). I may however be transfering away from Maynard so I
don't know how long I will be good for.

805.3You are tempting meDECSIM::GROSSThe bug stops hereThu Oct 19 1989 12:076
I play trombone and live in Sudbury. I have also been known to sing in public.
I am not sure I have the time for something like this, but it's tempting.

Where would you get the sheet music?

Dave
805.4Sheet music?MELTIN::dickGvriel::SchoellerThu Oct 19 1989 13:595
What do we need sheet music for? Just stare at the patterns on the CD 8^{).
Or if you aren't that mystical then listen to it. Klezmer is, after all, just
Yiddish jazz.

    So far our budding orchestra consists of
    	piano
    	accordian
    	baritone
    	trombone
    	bass/guitar
    	voice.
    Great so far.
    We could still use a violin,trumpet,clarinet,flute.

    I've got lots of music. Even have a few arrangements.

If I were as good as those Klezmer musicians I wouldn't need sheet music either.

If we can find a mutually acceptable time to meet, we've got a violinist.

    Thought I'd finally reply. I have played Klezmer music. Would be
    interested in seeing what kind of group you've got. I have some music
    and have done some arrangements myself.

    I play all the winds, sax, clar, flute, double reeds, etc. Can do
    keyboards and bass in a pinch.

    At the very least, I would like to sit in accasionally.

    I live in Acton.

I sing! I'm a tenor, do mostly cantorial, chassidic, and modern Israeli music.
Sounds interesting.
805.10I suddenly feel the need for trainingKAOFS::LIGHTMANHave Trumpet will travelSat Nov 04 1989 18:317
    If I ever make it back to bedford on training...

    I'll be certain to pack my trumpet.

805.11Call your local TempleUSEM::ROSENZWEIGFri Feb 09 1990 22:1211
    please let us know where you will perform.. I know a flute player
    named BEn who sometimes plays at Temple Beth El for various fun
    functions. Perhaps you can call the temple (phone is 443-9622,
    I think) and ask them to run this in their bulletin or announce
    this at weekly services. You might get some interesting responses.
    Also know a guitar play named Harvey Budner in Wayland...he's in
    the phone book and would probably respond.

    Good luck and do announce where and when you'll be playing.
