801.1 | Alcalay is very good | CASP::SEIDMAN | Aaron Seidman | Thu Oct 12 1989 19:28 | 6 |
| I've been very happy with my three-volume Alcalay. (One volume is
Hebrew-English, two are English-Hebrew). I got mine in Israel for
under $40, about four years ago. I think they go for around $70 at the
Israel Book Shop (Brookline).

| Alcalay is the "king's Hebrew".

| A motion has been made and seconded in favor of Alcalay. All those in favor
say "Aye." AYE!!!! All those opposed...nah!
An additional note, unless you really need a portable dictionary, stay way
from the various paperbacks. They are woefully inadequate.

I'm quite satisfied with the quality of my 2-volume Megiddo (the most recent
edition may have 3 volumes), and I find it easier to use than the Alcalay.
For those occasions when a portable one is a must, I have a Bantam Megiddo.
