784.0. "Simchas Torah" by LDYBUG::PINCK (Amy Pinck, Long Live the Duck) Thu Sep 28 1989 00:17

I have cousins coming up the weekend of
Simchas Torah. We are looking for a service
that will have _lots_ of dancing with fun
    young people.

Which synogogues have a reputation for having
    this type of service?

    Happy New Year,
    Amy

784.1Beth Shalom, CambridgeDELNI::GOLDSTEINWe await silent Tristero's entryThu Sep 28 1989 13:169
THE Sinchat Torah celebration in the Boston area takes place at Beth
Shalom of Cambridge, which is on Tremont St. just off Hampshire (I
think -- it's not real far from Central Square; Tremont is parallel to
Prospect a couple of blocks towards Kendall). The city closes off the
street and it becomes quite the celebration. Hundreds of people show
    up.

I won't talk much about "Rabbi" Moshe Waldocks' singing familiar Hebrew
songs to the tunes of "Take Me Out to the Ball Game", etc...

Temple Emanuel in Newton has had quite a lively service the last few years.

Once upon a long time ago I was at the Bostonner Rebbe's on Simhat Torah
and found it VERY "lebbedik".
