I have cousins coming up the weekend of Simchas Torah. We are looking for a service that will have _lots_ of dancing with fun young people. Which synogogues have a reputation for having this type of service? Happy New Year, Amy

THE Sinchat Torah celebration in the Boston area takes place at Beth Shalom of Cambridge, which is on Tremont St. just off Hampshire (I think -- it's not real far from Central Square; Tremont is parallel to Prospect a couple of blocks towards Kendall). The city closes off the street and it becomes quite the celebration. Hundreds of people show up. I won't talk much about "Rabbi" Moshe Waldocks' singing familiar Hebrew songs to the tunes of "Take Me Out to the Ball Game", etc...

Temple Emanuel in Newton has had quite a lively service the last few years. Gavriel

Once upon a long time ago I was at the Bostonner Rebbe's on Simhat Torah and found it VERY "lebbedik". -ZAITCH |
