| The first event in Kerem Shalom's dedication of our new Shul will be
happening this Sunday Sept 17. To expand on the base note a bit,
Kerem Shalom, formerly Concord Area Jewish Group, is a non-affiliated,
Reconstructionist-oriented, very open congregation serving the greater
Concord area. Until this year we have been a guest of the First Parish
Church in Concord, where we have held our services, had our Hebrew School,
etc. Now, we have our own building! It is at the junction of Rte 2, and
Elm Street in Concord, just east of the Concord rotary.
Sunday is the first of the many events surrounding the opening of our Shul.
It is the building dedication. The events planned are:
1 - Plant a tree at the First Parish
2 - Blow the Shofar as a call to assembly
3 - Move into the First Parish Sanctuary
4 - Take the Torah out of the Ark
5 - Have a short program of speakers and singing (Hineh Ma Tov and
Lo Yisa Goy)
6 - Have a procession from First Parish to Kerem Shalom (about 2 miles),
led by 4 Klezmer musicians (definitely will be a first in Concord
history!) - busses will be available for those who wish to use them
7 - Put up the mezuzah
8 - Move into the sanctuary
9 - Place the Torah into the Ark
10 - Light the Ner Tamid
11 - Shema
12 - Mourner's Kaddish
13 - Hatikvah
14 - Blow the Shofar
Refreshments will be available at the Shul.
The time is 1:00 to 6:00 PM, Sunday, Sept. 17, beginning at the
First Parish Church, Lexington St., Concord Center, Concord.
All are invited to join us in this joyous and momentous event.

| The Kerem Shalom dedication was truly an event to remember. Much joy
was evident.
Our first Friday night service will be held this Friday evening, Sept.
22, at 7:30 at the shul, followed by a festive Oneg Shabbat.
All are invited.
