Our family is planning to hold an unveiling in late Aug or Sept
for my father. Are there any Sundays during that period when it
wouldn't be appropriate to do so?

Gene...I never heard of an "unappropriate" time to hold an unveiling.
My family too held an unveiling for my mother a few years ago in August.
