732.0. "Hotel for Rosh Hachana" by BONNET::MARCIANO () Fri Jul 07 1989 09:49

    	Shalom,

My name is Henri MARCIANO, I am working in NaC marketing group
in Valbonne. I'll be in the U.S for a business trip from 18-29th
September, ending my visit with the Roch Hachana evening. As
I'll be in the Boston area, do you know a nice and kosher Hotel
not far from a synagogue where I could stay for Roch Hashana.

    	Many Thanks in advance

    	Henri

Shalom Henri (long time, no see),

Someone may work any faster than me in finding you a kosher hotel,
however that's to your advantage. Too bad that you will have to
be away from home for Rosh Hashana (we both were last year). I'll
try and find out whatever information that I can.

There are no Kosher hotels in Boston or the surrounding area. Maybe we
    can arrange for home hospitality.

Hmm, I can remember when some of my relatives would take off for
various exotic locations such as Wrentham and Millis for the holidays.
These places were kosher and also had a synagogue on the premises.
Of course I may be dating myself back a few years. Perhaps the
best solution would be to find a hotel that could arrange for kosher
meals for Henri? I'm sure something can be arranged.

If I'm around Boston for Rosh Hashanah (not sure yet) you can stay with
    me. I live in Cambridge.

    Hi Henri,

I live in Cambridge too, so if Yossi's going to be in Cambridge over
Rosh Hashanah, and you're going to stay with him, come over for a meal!
BTW, home hospitality at the Orthodox minyan of Harvard Hillel (the
only Orthodox davening community in Cambridge) is fairly famous, so you
shouldn't have any problem getting meal invitations once you're there.
If you send me electronic mail, I can give you the name and phone
number of the head of the hospitality committee and you can give him a
call and see what can be arranged more formally.
